If Nazi Germany had the technology of television then Goebells would have built a propaganda network just like CNN.
The propagandists at CNN are patting each other on the back after receiving a major award for their ghoulish 2018 town hall that featured students from a Florida high school that was the site of a bloody mass shooting only a week after the incident took place.
It not only tasteless but marked a new low for the self-proclaimed “most trusted name in news” which moved quickly to exploit the horror and outrage in order to promote an activist gun control agenda and put a thumb on the scale for Democrats.
On Tuesday, CNN scored the “Walter Cronkite Award for Excellence in Television Political Journalism” for the staged event that launched the careers of a small group of students from Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School who would go on to serve as attack dogs for the political left including the vicious and cruel bully David Hogg.
The town hall was, in reality, a show trial that was used to demonize law-abiding gun owners and a disgraceful televised lynching where teenagers tore into Republican politicians like Senator Marco Rubio, and NRA spokeswoman Dana Loesch who feared for her personal safety from the assembled mob.
The farce was presided over by Jake Tapper and the glowing network basked in the glory of recognition over its sickening spectacle.
CNN's Parkland Town Hall has been honored with a @CronkiteAward. Congrats to @jaketapper and team who helped "advance the national conversation on gun control and violence." @LearCenter https://t.co/fAnFnJEnnn

Via The Washington Free Beacon, “CNN Parkland Town Hall Receives Award for Helping ‘Advance the National Conversation on Gun Control’”:
The 2018 CNN gun town hall in Parkland, Florida, has won a Walter Cronkite award for best “National Network News Program” for helping to “advance the national conversation on gun control and violence.”
The program, which took place seven days after the Feb. 14, 2018, massacre of 17 teachers and students at Stoneman Douglas High School, was hosted by CNN’s Jake Tapper and featured Sens. Marco Rubio (R., Fla.) and Bill Nelson (D., Fla.), Rep. Ted Deutch (D., Fla.), National Rifle Association spokeswoman Dana Loesch, and former Broward County Sheriff Scott Israel (D.).
It was entitled Stand Up: The Students of Stoneman Douglas Demand Action.
Community members, students, parents and teachers were among those in the audience and asking questions, and the tenor of the town hall was overwhelmingly in favor of stricter gun control laws, with the pro-gun rights Rubio and Loesch put on the defensive and jeered throughout the evening. One student questioned Loesch’s fitness as a mother, and another compared Rubio to the murderer.
NATIONWIDE POLL: Was Obama The Worst President In History?
In scoring the hardware for “Stand Up: The Students of Stoneman Douglas Demand Action,” CNN is really the recipient of the biased fake news industry giving itself an award for producing the propaganda that fails to inform or stimulate legitimate debate but rather brainwashes the American people.
How big of a farce is the Walter Cronkite award?
It is presented by the Norman Lear Center, an organization that is named after the far-left television producer who founded the anti-Christian activist group People For the American Way (PFAW) which is a cheap imitation of the Southern Poverty Law Center and which is devoted to destroying the last vestiges of religious freedom in the nation.
The award is being panned by many including Loesch who weighed in on Twitter by posting a series of videos that showed how CNN deliberately instigated the mob which was clamoring for her head on a pike.

CNN is proud of this, their Cronkite Award™-winning townhall where they advanced the conversation on gun control. There is more video still. pic.twitter.com/Pk6xAZZ3co

Some interesting notes: CNN set this up like a WWE event. Purposefully. They allowed Scott Israel to take the stage before the cameras turned on and electioneer; he took that time (about 20 minutes) to start blaming law-abiding gun owners.

I showed up in good faith for genuine conversation knowing that at best, it would be a tough event. The lengths @CNNPR went to inflame emotions & exploit pain to *put on a show* is inexcusable, shameful, & it’s grotesque they’re celebrating getting an “award” for their conduct.
— Dana Loesch (@DLoesch) March 19, 2019
In reality, the grotesque public pillorying of Loesch was the precursor for a sustained and coordinated pressure campaign against the NRA in which economic terrorism in the form of boycotts and organized cyberbullying of corporations that offered member discounts was undertaken.
Following this disgusting orgy of vengeance, CNN has continued to air their town halls and stacked audiences as forums to attack President Trump and smear those who voted for him as well as to promote the Democrats – most recently Senator Elizabeth Warren and the upcoming event with Cory “Spartacus” Booker.
Shameful and sick but this is the way that the media rolls in the Trump era although Herr Goebbels would be proud.
