Former DNC Head Warns That Dems Are Doomed If They Follow AOC

Could it be that instead of the “future” of the party, that freshman Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez has become a cinder block chained to the necks of Democrats and will drag them down come next November?

Plucked from the obscurity of a New York City restaurant where she was a bartender in a modern day Cinderella story, the 29-year-old was bestowed with celebrity status after she unexpectedly won the Dem primary in her district last summer and has since become the de facto leader of the Democrats while all others meekly fall in line behind the socialist sensation.

AOC’s celebrity has made her into a superstar despite her prickly personality, goofy ideas like the Green New Deal and shoot-from-the-hip Twitter missives that are amplified by her stardom.

This week, she even made the cover of Time Magazine.

But there may be trouble in paradise for the taco bar revolutionary and her fellow radicals of the vaunted freshman class.

A recent Gallup poll showed that the more that people get to know her, the more that they dislike her and her unpopularity ratings are climbing by the day.

This does not bode well for AOC who is about to dominate media coverage thanks to the Time feature and those who will be tuning in will get an extended look at the overwhelming negatives of the taco bar revolutionary.

Worse yet? Some Democrats are risking being pummeled by AOC’s Twitter mob in a cyber pogrom by speaking out about a toxic influence that like an invasive parasite, has taken over its host.

One of them is former Pennsylvania Governor Ed Rendell who once ran the DNC before the current madness of identity politics, revenge, and reparations consumed what was once the party of JFK and FDR and he has warned that that by elevating AOC and her ilk as the faces of the party, that they run the risk of being clobbered by President Trump.

Rendell’s comments come during a CNN segment on white working class voters in Pennsylvania, a state that Trump won because unlike Hillary Clinton, he spoke to that demographic on real economic issues.

According to Rendell, the Dems are on the verge of blowing a “double slam dunk” thanks to Ocasio-Cortez’s dominance.

Via Real Clear Politics, “Rendell: 2020 Went From “Slam Dunk” To “Trouble” For Dems; “AOC Does Not Speak For The Democratic Party””:

“I think all of a sudden, the 2020 election went from a slam dunk for Democrats to something where we’re going to have trouble beating this guy because he’s going to make Democratic socialism swing to the left, which I don’t think is real, but he’s going to make it into the issue,” the former governor told CNN on Thursday.

“AOC does not speak for the Democratic party,” Rendell said of Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) and her growing influence.

Will the party’s leadership get the message and change course before the clown bus soars off of the edge of a cliff in a scene reminiscent of the ending of Thelma And Louise?

Not likely, they have already allowed AOC and her posse to get away with far too much and the cancer of socialism has spread like wildfire.

It’s going to take an electoral whupping to spur the Dems into changing their ways and even that may not work. There are good reasons why their logo is a jackass and one of them is a self-defeating streak of stubbornness.
