Here’s some liberal logic: democrat Beto O’Rourke says that because he owns a gun (maybe) that it qualifies him to ban guns. As you will soon see, his gun ownership is almost certainly a lie but even if he really does have firearms it’s ridiculous to suggest that it gives him the authority to restrict others from having them. I have a mouth but that doesn’t mean I should be able to stop other people from expressing their free speech right, does it?
The AP interviewed O’Rourke and he pulled that “I’m a gun owner and I believe in gun control” nonsense:
Democratic presidential candidate Beto O’Rourke said Sunday that his personal use and ownership of firearms taught him the responsibility of having guns and can help bridge politically fraught discussions about gun control in the U.S.
He’s a car owner and somehow that didn’t teach him responsible personal use of a vehicle. He crashed his car when he was drunk as shit and even tried to leave the scene of the accident. His theory that owning something makes him responsible is bogus and so is his claim that he’s a gun owner.
The former Texas congressman told The Associated Press in an interview Sunday in Las Vegas that he inherited guns belonging to his great uncle, who had taught him how to shoot and handle a firearm responsibly.
Who inherits anything from a great uncle? Why didn’t this great uncle give the guns to one of his own children, grandchildren, siblings or anyone closer to him than a great nephew? This sounds like a lie and it would be really cool if anyone in the liberal media bothered t fact-check this.
On a related note, I couldn’t find one picture of O’Rourke with a gun for this article. I couldn’t even find a shot of him make a gun out of his finger.
Now get ready for the most beta male thing ever and the reason why he is called “Beta O’Dork.”
He says he and his wife, Amy, who grew up on a New Mexico ranch and used guns, made sure their children also knew how to safely handle guns.
So his wife taught the kids how to use guns? Maybe he was too busy eating dirt and serving his wife a bowl full of baby shit to take his responsibility as a man. This also sounds like a lie. I don’t believe the O’Rourke’s own guns, let alone that they taught their young children how to use them. No seriously, he and his wife are anti-gun hipster doofuses and their kids look like toddlers, but we’re supposed to believe they taught these babies how to shoot?
With that bullshit firmly established, O’Rourke says because he’s a gun-slingin’ son-of-a-bitch that it uniquely positions him to take all of our gun ownership rights away.
O’Rourke, speaking at a coffee shop 5 miles (8 kilometers) away from the site of a 2017 mass shooting on the Las Vegas Strip, said he’d like to use his personal experience and the traditions of gun ownership in his home state of Texas to “lead the country on sensible gun safety policy” that reduces violence.
This guy couldn’t lead a group of Millennials into a Hot Topic with a plate full of avocado toast and he thinks he can lead the country on anything?
“It is not a politically easy thing to talk about, but I think if we talk about it from experience, out of pride and responsible gun ownership and ensuring that weapons of war are kept on the battlefield and they’re not used in our schools and concerts and communities, we’ll save a lot more lives and will do nothing to infringe upon any American’s Second Amendment rights,” O’Rourke said.
And here’s what he considers preserving our 2nd Amendment rights:
He has called for universal background checks, a federal assault weapons ban, the closing of loopholes that allow someone to purchase a gun before their background check is completed and a ban on bump stocks, the device used by the Las Vegas shooter to mimic a fully automatic weapon.
He should maybe brush up on the 2A a bit because banning entire classes of weapons, taking away gun ownership rights without due process, and criminalizing gun transfers between family members are all serious infringements upon our rights. Also, bump stocks are banned, so he should try to keep up on the news as well.
Liberals have been forever trying to apply this argument to gun ownership: They think that if they claim to own guns and support the 2nd Amendment it gives them the authority to destroy the 2nd Amendment and take our guns away. That’s not how it works, but when they confront the reality that our rights are untouchable, they got nothing.
