What Could Possibly Go Wrong? Facebook Is Banning White Nationalism

After the 2016 presidential election, liberals insisted that “fake news” on social media was the reason why Hillary Clinton lost. Facebook responded by banning “fake news” and what that really meant was they suspended and deleted conservative accounts. Anyone remember Downtrend? Now FB has declared war on any expression of of white nationalism, which can only mean all white people will soon be banned from the platform.

Facebook made this bold announcement today:

Today we’re announcing a ban on praise, support and representation of white nationalism and separatism on Facebook and Instagram, which we’ll start enforcing next week. It’s clear that these concepts are deeply linked to organized hate groups and have no place on our services.

They apparently used to tolerate white people who love America, but no more:

Our policies have long prohibited hateful treatment of people based on characteristics such as race, ethnicity or religion — and that has always included white supremacy. We didn’t originally apply the same rationale to expressions of white nationalism and separatism because we were thinking about broader concepts of nationalism and separatism — things like American pride and Basque separatism, which are an important part of people’s identity.

But over the past three months our conversations with members of civil society and academics who are experts in race relations around the world have confirmed that white nationalism and separatism cannot be meaningfully separated from white supremacy and organized hate groups. Our own review of hate figures and organizations – as defined by our Dangerous Individuals & Organizations policy – further revealed the overlap between white nationalism and separatism and white supremacy.

Translation: a bunch of lefties complained that white people are free to express their opinions so Facebook took drastic measures to make sure that doesn’t happen anymore.

This is already bad, but check this shit out:

Going forward, while people will still be able to demonstrate pride in their ethnic heritage, we will not tolerate praise or support for white nationalism and separatism.

If white people can’t praise or support white nationalism, then they are certainly unable to demonstrate pride in their ethnicity. I think what FB meant to say was that blacks, Hispanics, Asians, and others can demonstrate pride in their ethnicities, just not white folks.

Making the potential for disaster even greater, here’s how they intend to weed out the white nationalism from their platform:

We also need to get better and faster at finding and removing hate from our platforms. Over the past few years we have improved our ability to use machine learning and artificial intelligence to find material from terrorist groups. Last fall, we started using similar tools to extend our efforts to a range of hate groups globally, including white supremacists.

I imagine that anytime their algorithm detects the word “white” that isn’t preceded by “I hate” and followed by “people” an account will get deleted.

The fascist control of thought and expression doesn’t end there. Anyone who tries to search for anything FB considers white nationalism will get them redirected to a reeducation center:

Our efforts to combat hate don’t stop here. As part of today’s announcement, we’ll also start connecting people who search for terms associated with white supremacy to resources focused on helping people leave behind hate groups. People searching for these terms will be directed to Life After Hate, an organization founded by former violent extremists that provides crisis intervention, education, support groups and outreach.

This is just a really long way for me to say that the Def-Con News Facebook page will probably get deleted next week. We’re not a white nationalist site by any stretch of the imagination, but we do occasionally cover white people in a positive light so I’m sure were done for on FB.
