Protected By Walls, Pope Francis Calls Out Trump For Building Walls

Pope Francis lives in Vatican City, an independent country surrounded by walls, and yet felt the need to give President Trump crap about wanting to build a wall on the US/Mexico border to control the flow of illegal immigration. Many people have suggested that the Pope is a progressive liberal and this seals the deal. Only a leftist could be this obnoxiously hypocritical. What’s next? Will Pope Francis be critical of Trump for wearing funny looking hats?

CNN reports on this and because it’s CNN the article comes with a correction at the bottom that they initially had incorrect information in the original story. Seriously? They can’t even report on this insignificant thing without completely botching it? I guess that’s why they are CNN.

In any case, Sunday on the Pope Plane reporters asked Pope Francis about the United States building walls to control immigration and this is what he said:

“Those who build walls will become prisoners of the walls they put up. This is history,” Pope Francis said.

Historically speaking, Vatican City is completely surrounded by walls to keep out the riff raft. Visitors must pass through a security checkpoint, which includes a metal detector. Is Pope Francis a prisoner of these walls? Apparently not, since he was outside of those walls flying around the world. Isn’t lying a deadly sin, even if the Pope does it?

CNN pointed out that Pope Francis has been critical of Trump in the past over the issue of walls. Earlier this year he said, “Builders of walls sow fear.”

Presumably that was a shot against Trump, but it could also apply to whatever former Pope built the walls around Vatican City.

Pope Francis also gave Trump crap during the 2016 election with this statement:

“A person who thinks only about building walls, wherever they may be, and not building bridges, is not Christian. This is not the gospel,” said Pope Francis.

So anyone who puts up a wall instead of building a bridge gets kicked out of Christianity? What about a nice picket fence? Does that also get someone excommunicated? Is there at least a loophole where you can build a wall and a bridge and still stay in the church?

I feel like there’s an awful lot of walls and wall building in the Bible. I mean how else are you going to keep out the Philistines? Is Pope Francis trying to say that all of these Biblical figures are in hell because they didn’t put their efforts into building bridges? Maybe. He doesn’t seem like he really understands that Bible or Christianity, which is a weird thing to say about the Pope, but it’s true.

CNN also reported that when a reporter showed Pope Francis a piece of barbed wire from a border wall that he cried. Lighten up, Francis.

Pope Francis’ issue is that he feels like there should be no barriers to keep people from entering a nation. Again, he has walls around his country and basically a no immigration policy. The population of Vatican City is around 1000 and that stays very steady. Average people simply cannot emigrate there. But hey, this isn’t about the Pope, it’s what he thinks everyone else should do.

The purpose of border walls is so that countries get to decide who comes in and who doesn’t. In fact, that’s the purpose of all walls: to keep out the scumbags. On top of all the other hypocrisy, Pope Francis isn’t real fond of scumbags either. here’s a video of him pulling his hand away from worshippers who try to kiss his ring:

If he can’t even stand the Catholic faithful kissing his ring, what are the chances he’d like to see Vatican City or Rome overrun with Muslim immigrants? I’m guessing it’s somewhere around zero.

With this, Francis cements his position as the liberal Pope. He’s a hypocrite, has no self-awareness, and a firm “do as I say not as I do” attitude. He’s pretty much Obama in goofy hat, though he probably never goes out in public wearing mom jeans.
