The original purpose of the 2nd Amendment right to keep and bear arms was so that in case the government ever turned on the people, they would have the means to fight back. Liberals have tried to twist the 2nd Amendment into a right related to hunting that can be regulated by the government, but one of their own just busted their narrative. A reporter on MSNBC accidentally admitted that guns in the hands of the people are a pretty good way to resist an oppressive government.
As you may have heard, there’s some shit going down in socialist paradise Venezuela today as reported by The AP:
Anti-government demonstrators clashed with troops loyal to Venezuela President Nicolas Maduro at an air base in the capital hours after opposition leader Juan Guaidó took to the streets in a bold and risky attempt to lead a military uprising against the embattled socialist.
The early-morning rebellion seems to have only limited military support.
But it was by far the most-serious challenge yet to Maduro’s rule since Guaidó, with the backing of the U.S. and dozens of other countries, declared himself the country’s interim president in January in rejection of a government he accused of stealing last year’s presidential election.
The dramatic events began early Tuesday when Guaidó, flanked by a few dozen national guardsmen and some armored crowd control vehicles, released a three-minute video filmed near a Caracas air base in which he called on civilians and others in the armed forces to join a final push to topple Maduro.
As Kerry Sanders was reporting on the events, he couldn’t help to notice that the people were no match for the armed military forces. Host Andrea Mitchell noted that Maduro was hanging on to power and then this happened:
“Not only hanging on but he appears to still control the military. You have to understand, in Venezuela gun ownership is not something that’s open to everybody. So if the military have the guns, they have the power and as long as Nicolás Maduro controls the military, he controls the country,” said Sanders.
This must be mind-blowing to liberals. They just figured out that if the people are disarmed, they cannot fight against tyranny. Our Founding Fathers sure as shit knew this. Hitler and Stalin also understood it, which is why they took the guns away from the people. Even Hugo Chavez, the previous dictator of Venezuela was in on the secret too, which is why he confiscated all the privately owned guns in his country.
Ironically, Venezuelans can’t even use guns to hunt, which appears to be the only way to get food in that socialist shithole.
What this actually shows is the failure of socialism and the success of gun control to keep it going. Unironically, democrats in the US would like to transform our country into a socialist nation and they want to disarm the American public. Could these two things be related?
So MSNBC has finally realized the actual purpose of the 2nd Amendment is to protect against tyranny, even if it was by accident. Maybe next week they’ll figure out that high taxes and regulations kill jobs and sink the economy. And the week after that, perhaps it will dawn on them that rape is bad even if it’s committed by a democrat. Baby steps.
