Poll: Voters In AOC’s Home District Sour On Socialist Twitter Diva

Socialist firebrand Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez may be a national superstar thanks to a shameless media desperate to promote marginal figures if they hate President Trump but things aren’t going so well for her in her home district.

It was nearly one year ago that an unknown bartender at a Mexican restaurant pulled off a stunning win in the primary for New York’s 14th congressional district to take down incumbent Joe Crowley and savvy activists for the radical PAC Justice Democrats worked with their media allies to foist off the then 28-year-old revolutionary on America.

Only days after her shock victory, Ocasio-Cortez was being featured on late night shows and hailed as the “future” of the Democratic party by DNC Chairman Tom Perez, despite her inability to present coherent ideas and her playing fast and loose with the truth, AOC was easily elected to Congress.

With a national platform, the young socialist quickly leveraged her impressive social media clout to supplant Speaker Nancy Pelosi as perhaps the most influential Democrat in Washington despite her socialist Trojan horse Green New Deal, her thinly-veiled anti-Semitism and her role as the key driver in sinking the deal with internet colossus Amazon that would have brought a second headquarters and tens of thousands of jobs to the Big Apple.

Perhaps it was the Amazon debacle but only a half year into her congressional term, the taco bar Marxist is already in trouble in her home district.

Via The Washington Examiner, “Poll: AOC disliked, distrusted, unwanted in her own NY district”:

She’s a star on the national political stage, but Democratic New York Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is viewed skeptically back in her Queens and Bronx 14th Congressional District, according to a new door-to-door survey.

It found that she has a low 21% favorability rating, that just 11% believe she has their best interests in mind, and that only 13% would vote to reelect her.

The survey of registered voters was conducted by the political action committee targeting her with a Federal Election Commission complaint, Stop The AOC PAC.

A previous survey by the group found that residents were upset with the lawmaker’s opposition to bringing an Amazon headquarters to the district. In part due to Ocasio-Cortez’s complaints, Amazon backed out of moving to her district.

Additional details according to The Daily Wire:

A new poll from inside socialist Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s (D-NY) 14th congressional district has found that among registered voters, the far-left congresswoman is deeply unpopular.

The door-to-door poll from Stop The AOC PAC yielded the following key results:

  • They don’t like her. She has a more than 2:1 ratio of unfavorable (50.88%) to favorable (21.37%) in public opinion.
  • They don’t trust her. Only 10.75% thought she had their best interests in mind in quashing the Amazon deal – 32.60% said she didn’t.
  • They don’t want her. 33.44% are ready to vote against her, and only 13.30% would vote for her.

The poll also found that a plurality of Ocasio-Cortez’s district did not agree with her decision to sabotage the Amazon deal, which would have brought tens of thousands of jobs and billions of dollars in economic activity to her district.

The final analysis from the poll stated:

Facing an electorate more concerned with results than retweets, Rep. Ocasio-Cortez has problems in her backyard. Despite her online notoriety and fandom in the national new progressive movement, the citizens of New York District 14 want a representative aligned with their values.

After surveying voters in 2,261 homes in the district, it’s clear Rep. Ocasio-Cortez is not the model for hope and change she sold herself to be. The opportunity for a new voice is prevalent, and the electorate is ready to take action in 2020.

The results from the Stop The AOC PAC poll are just the latest devastating numbers Ocasio-Cortez has had to face over her job performance.

The good news for AOC? It’s still just under eighteen months until she has to defend her seat.

The bad news for AOC? eighteen months is an eternity and she is already piling up fuckups at an impressive pace, most recently her comparison of ICE detention centers to Nazi concentration camps and she just can’t keep her big mouth shut.

There is little doubt that she will herself face a primary challenge and things may turn out very differently this time around.
