Today’s dispatch from the department of “No Fucking Shit” served up piping hot.
In the most recent of his sit-downs with a celebrity mainstream news personality, President Trump’s interview with NBC’s Chuck Todd aired on Sunday morning and the leader of the free world was gracious and respectful to a figure who has often acted as a Democratic party activist.
The chat with Todd is Trump’s latest effort to smoke the peace pipe with the opposition press and while it remains unknown as to whether the Meet The Press host will stab him in the back the way that longtime Clinton toady George Stephanopolous did, at least the president is at least trying to mend some fences with his critics prior to the 2020 campaign season.
During the wide-ranging interview, Trump talked about tensions with Iran, Nancy Pelosi, the immigration crisis, his reelection campaign and more but one topic that came up and that was what the POTUS felt was the biggest mistake of his first term.
According to the president, that would have been the choice of longtime senator Jeff Sessions as his attorney general. It was a decision that would have horrific consequences thanks to Sessions nearly immediately checking after he was sworn in and delegating control of the investigation of the Russian collusion hoax to Rod Rosenstein who in turn, appointed Robert Mueller as special counsel.

Via Reuters, “Trump: naming Sessions U.S. attorney general was ‘biggest mistake'”:
U.S. President Donald Trump said on Sunday that if he could have one “do-over,” it would be “personnel” decisions, including naming former Senator Jeff Sessions as his first U.S. attorney general.
“I would say if I had one do over, it would be, I would not have appointed Jeff Sessions to be attorney general … That was the biggest mistake,” Trump said in an interview aired on Sunday with NBC’s ‘Meet the Press’ program.
After almost three years of investigations, Trump’s presidency is still clouded by questions surrounding Russian interference to boost his candidacy in the 2016 U.S. elections and his subsequent efforts to impede inquiries into the matter.
Sessions, formerly a Republican senator from Alabama, was one of the earliest Trump administration casualties of the Russian election meddling scandal, which continues to be investigated by committees of the U.S. Congress.
Trump grew increasingly frustrated with Sessions and his absentee reign at the Department Of Justice, often criticizing the squishy ex-senator via Twitter and then belatedly pulling the trigger and firing him right after the 2018 midterm elections.
Like a pit viper, Todd was ready to pounce and asked Trump saw Sessions’ replacement – AG William Bahr – as his Roy Cohn. It was both a reference that few under the age of 60 would understand as well as the Beltway elite’s obsession with Watergate and things past in order to paint the president in the most unfavorable light possible.

PRESIDENT DONALD TRUMP: Well, it would be personnel.
CHUCK TODD: Who is it?

CHUCK TODD: That’s your, in your mind, that’s your worst mistake?
PRESIDENT DONALD TRUMP: Yeah, that was the biggest mistake.
CHUCK TODD: Is Bill Barr your Roy Cohn?
PRESIDENT DONALD TRUMP: He should’ve never — I think he’s a very talented, very–
CHUCK TODD: But do you know what I mean by that? You’ve always said —
PRESIDENT DONALD TRUMP: No, no, look —
CHUCK TODD: Where’s my Roy Cohn?” Is he your Roy Cohn?
The ruthless Cohn served as Sen. Joseph McCarthy’s chief counsel during the infamous 1950’s Cold War anti-communist hearings but like Watergate, that was a long time ago. Cohn was also once Trump’s personal attorney showing that Todd was baiting a trap with the sleazy and inaccurate comparison to Barr who is hated and feared by Democrats.
Cohn was also a homosexual and the media certainly loves f*gs.
How much fodder will the “Meet The Press” interview provide for anti-Trump hit pieces in the slow week for news after Congress goes on Fourth Of July recess? Probably quite a bit and it will only serve as more confirmation to many that the media is out to destroy Trump’s presidency.
