Liberals have been pushing a story that there is a rise in hate crimes because of President Trump, but time and time again they get let down by high-profile hoaxes like Jussie Smolett. There was a certain level of excitement over a potentially legit hate crime in California in which 3 black families had their homes vandalized with racial slurs and broken windows. That all came crashing back to earth when the suspect was revealed to also be black. Once again, black-on-black crime ruins a good liberal narrative.
CBS SF Bay Area reports:
An Oakland resident has been arrested for allegedly vandalizing a Bay Point neighborhood with racist graffiti and destruction of property in an attack that was made to appear as if it was a hate crime, according to authorities.
Alvin Brown, 63, is accused of leaving a trail of destruction in a cul-de-sac in Bay Point, near a main road early Wednesday morning, breaking windows with rocks and bricks and spray-painting racist messages on cars and homes.
The attack targeted three African American families on the block.
The Contra Costa County Sheriff’s Office said Brown made the graffiti and vandalism appear to be racially-motivated…
So far so good. This could be the one that proves Trump’s “racism” is making people attack black people. Unfortunately, this is what Brown looks like:
Damn! So close.
Even cooler, because Brown is black, he will not be charged with a hate crime as apparently that’s not allowed. Here’s The Patch with the reason why this doesn’t count as hate:
A suspect who allegedly vandalized three homes in Bay Point, including spray-painting racial slurs, was arrested Friday but investigators are not considering the act a hate crime because of a prior relationship between the suspect and one of the victims.
A black family lives in each of the three homes vandalized, sheriff’s spokesperson Jimmy Lee said. But despite that and the presence of racial slurs in the vandalism, investigators believe that Brown allegedly painted the racial slurs in an effort to hide his true motive.
Brown “has a personal relationship with one of the victims,” said sheriff’s Capt. Melissa Klawuhn. She said it does not appear to be a hate crime but “an attempt to make the vandalism appear to be racially motivated and we’re confident that’s not the case.”
Well that’s a new one. You can’t be charged with a hate crime if your hate is directed in part at a someone you used to know. What about the 2 other families who had their houses spray painted with the N-word?
Victim Cas’sius McGill isn’t upset that Brown broke his windows and tagged his house with racially offensive graffiti, but rather that he made it so, on the outside chance a white guy ever does this, that nobody will believe it.
“What’s upsetting is if this ever does happen in our community, people are going to say, well, it could possibly not be racially motivated. So, he’s doing a horrible disservice to his own people,” McGill said.
This incident happened on Wednesday and Brown was arrested Friday so that means for 2 days liberals held out hope that their “Trump is creating hatred” narrative finally had some solid evidence to support it. Now they have to go back to pretending that most hate crimes aren’t bullshit and that most crimes committed against black people aren’t perpetrated by other black people.
