Liberals have a lot of false narratives involving guns and one of the biggest is the insistence that armed good guys can’t possibly stop a crazy person with a gun. Every single mass shooter picks a soft target that is unlikely to have any armed resistance, but liberals deny this fact. Besides, according to them, it wouldn’t make any difference because insane people with guns are impervious to bullets from armed citizens. Not surprisingly, the El Paso killer picked a Walmart to shoot up because he figured there was very little chance anyone there would be armed and fight back.
How do we know the reason why Patrick Crusius chose an El Paso Walmart for the location of his shooting rampage? Well, he told us. In the manifesto being attributed to the killer, he explained the though process involved in picking the site of his mass shooting:
“Remember: it is not cowardly to pick low hanging fruit. AKA Don’t attack heavily guarded areas to fulfill your super soldier COD fantasy. Attack low security targets. Even though you might out gun a security guard or police man, they likely beat you in armor, training and numbers. Do not throw away your life on an unnecessarily dangerous target. If a target seems too hot, live to fight another day.”
Yes, Texas is an open-carry and shall-issue concealed carry state but a Walmart in El Paso is about as soft of a target as there is. The proof is that Crusius killed 20 people, wounding 28 more with no resistance. He ran out of ammo before the police arrived and then he peacefully surrendered.
The recent shootings in Gilroy, CA and Dayton, OH occurred in places with heavy police presence and both killers were put down by officers within seconds of opening fire. The carnage and devastation was mitigated by the presence of good guys with guns.
The reason why mass shooters pick places like schools, churches, and movie theaters is because they are gun-free zones. They aren’t likely to encounter police or armed citizens, which makes these places mass shooter magnets. It’s also the reason why mass shooters never pick a sporting event which will be packed with armed officers or a gun show with tons of people exercising their 2nd Amendment rights.
This seems like an easy problem to solve, right? No more gun-free zones, armed security anywhere there is a large gathering of people, and the Constitutional right to keep and bear arms would put an end to shit like this from ever happening again.
The liberal solution however to mass shootings is to propose laws that wouldn’t stop criminals from committing crimes but would make it harder for law-abiding people to defend themselves. In reality this puts democrats on the side of mass killers because their proposed plans would only make it easier for killers to rack up body counts.
With every mass shooting, the killers are literally telling us how we can stop them from happening. Democrats don’t want to listen because if there’s one thing they hate more than Constitutional rights its practical solutions.
