Aside from being the party of socialism, democrats are also the ban party. A solid 75% of their platform is telling you all the stuff you’re not allowed to have under their leadership. The want to ban guns, straws, cars, cows, hamburgers, and freedom. Add to that list credit cards. Beto O’Rourke is calling for a ban on high-capacity military-style credit cards or more specifically a ban on people being allowed to use credit cards to make any sort of firearms or ammunition purchases.
The problem, as Beto sees it, is that too many criminals are using credit cards to illegally purchase guns. Never mind that this isn’t remotely an issue, the slacker doofus has a solution:

I’m glad someone finally got to the root problem of mass shootings. It’s not mental health or evil that drives these massacres, but rather easy access to credit. What a douche.
O’Rourke has appointed himself CEO of all credit card companies and here’s what he’s telling them to do:
Banks and credit card companies must:
1⃣Refuse to take part in the sale of assault weapons.
2⃣Stop processing transactions for gun sales online & at gun shows without background checks.

I know O’Rourke thinks this a real list of demands but it’s not, mostly because there isn’t one single gun company that manufactures “assault weapons” for the civilian market. You can’t buy an “assault weapon” at a gun store, online, or at gun show. “Assault weapon” isn’t even a real term for anything that exists. This is like saying there should be a boycott of companies that make “combat unicorns.”

Nobody needs a high credit limit for bargain hunting. Platinum cards were designed to buy as much stuff as fast as possible. Cash back rewards belong in malls and not on our streets.
The bottom line is that O’Rourke is trying to dictate what legal products we are allowed to purchase on credit. What’s next? Sorry, you can’t pay for gasoline with a Visa because fossil fuels are destroying the planet. Don’t even think about using a Master Card at Black Angus due to the existential threat of cow farts.
The message all of the 2020 democrats are sending to voters is: “You are too dumb to make your own decisions and can’t be trusted with most things so we’re going to ban everything. Now elect us so we can make your lives suck.”
And the thing is, democrats honestly believe this is the message that is going to deliver them the White House. They’ll be sorely disappointed.
