Here’s why Trump’s poll numbers are defying the impeachment mess

No matter where you turn, the news is filled with embarrassing stuff about President Trump. The CIA whistleblower complaint about his conduct on a call with Ukraine’s president has turned into a full-court impeachment scandal.

But through all of this, Trump’s approval rating is at its highest level of the year according to the Hill-HarrisX survey, and the other major polls taken since this Ukraine phone call whistleblower story emerged show few changes from the last surveys taken before the news broke.

How is this possible?

Anyone still asking that question simply hasn’t come to terms with why Donald Trump won the 2016 election in the first place. In short, Trump was elected to be the ultimate disruptor and to play that disruptive role as much as possible. “Drain the swamp” wasn’t just a campaign slogan, but a visceral feeling against establishment Washington in every way. Millions of Americans who voted for Trump and still support him chose him precisely because he is nasty, breaks the rules, and shows little respect for the political establishment at every level.

To really be mad at Trump for asking foreign leaders to investigate Joe and Hunter Biden or Hillary Clinton, the voters need to believe that Clinton and the Bidens aren’t inherently corrupt. They must also believe that just about all the rules and established groups within American government, especially the intelligence community, deserve unquestioned respect.

Here’s a newsflash: a very large number of Americans don’t have that trust and respect, and they’re generally OK with Trump being the junkyard dog who digs it all out.

This is Donald Trump’s brand.

BACKFIRE: NBA, Houston Rockets Cower To Communist China, Get Blasted Online

The National Basketball Association (NBA) and the Houston Rockets cowered to communist China on Sunday after Rocket’s General Manager Daryl Morey tweeted out support for Hong Kong which sparked an immediate backlash from Chinese businesses and the Chinese government.

Morey tweeted out a graphic on Friday evening that stated: “Fight For Freedom Stand With Hong Kong”

“The Houston Rockets suddenly find themselves in the middle of a geopolitical controversy that could put their chief front-office executive’s job in jeopardy,” The Ringer reported. “After general manager Daryl Morey expressed support in a since-deleted tweet for pro-democracy efforts in Hong Kong, the Chinese government, the Chinese Basketball Association, and various Chinese businesses quickly denounced Morey and moved to sever ties with the Rockets. As a consequence, league sources told The Ringer that Rockets ownership has debated Morey’s employment status and whether to replace him.”

On Sunday, NBA chief communications officer Mike Bass released the following statement:

We recognize that the views expressed by Houston Rockets General Manager Daryl Morey have deeply offended many of our friends and fans in China, which is regrettable. While Daryl has made it clear that his tweet does not represent the Rockets or the NBA, the values of the league support individuals’ educating themselves and sharing their views on matters important to them. We have great respect for the history and culture of China and hope that sports and the NBA can be used as a unifying force to bridge cultural divides and bring people together.

Daryl Morey also apologized for standing up for freedom, tweeting: “I did not intend my tweet to cause any offense to Rockets fans and friends of mine in China.

The Toxic Scourge of Twitter

The internet was supposed to usher in a new enlightenment, where all of mankind’s knowledge was readily available for a minimal cost. At last, inner-city children had the same opportunity to converse in Latin, discuss the themes of treachery and filiopietism in “King Lear,” and solve quadratic equations as their aristo peers. Instead, they got screen addiction, parti-color games powered by ludic loops, and an infinite storehouse of pornography — Gresham’s Law bringing its currency effect to technology. Not to mention the foreboding prospect of an all-seeing surveillance state.

Twitter wasn’t immune to debased impulses, despite it being frequented by press cognoscenti who, in theory, or more informed than the hoi polloi. Rather than serve as an open quad for the free flow of ideas, it is insular and mocking of heterodox opinion that crosses the liberal line. “Twitter has come to function as the chief policing weapon of public conversation — being the unofficial instrument of editing, censoring, bullying, silencing, demonizing, and cancelling,” Waters explains, drawing on the shared experience of many long-time users.

Twitter journalists charge themselves with the task of protecting the “public conversation” from online miscreants who bring up uncomfortable topics like sexual dimorphism and false rape accusations. Since anyone with basic English skills and a rudimentary internet connection can log on to Twitter with a fake name and stir up trouble, journalists play at being soldiers under siege in their billet, defending the zeitgeist against a blight of antiquated wrongthink.

Seattle Schools: Math Racist, Oppressed Need Liberation From the Right Answer

In Seattle, mathematics is no longer a matter of addition and subtraction, multiplication and division, or integers, fractions, and variables.

A government-school document shows that students in Seattle will learn math in an “ethnic studies framework” that depicts the subject as oppressive, and that the right answer to a math question might be relative to a person’s ethnicity and culture.

Upshot of the course: Math is a racist tool the white man uses to oppress “people of color.”

Words are nearly insufficient to describe the insanity of the proposal, but words aren’t really necessary.

The curriculum itself does a pretty good job. It is self-evidently idiotic.

Three Parts
The “framework,” which radio talker Jason Rantz of 770KTTH reported as “preliminary,” comprises three parts: themes, learning targets, and essential questions.

The five themes define what students will learn in a few brief sentences. “Origins, Identity, and Agency” will teach students that “mathematical theory and application is rooted in the ancient histories of people and empires of color.”

“Power and Oppression” will impart another dubious lesson: “The ways in which individuals and groups define mathematical knowledge so as to see ‘Western’ mathematics as the only legitimate expression of mathematical identity and intelligence. This definition of legitimacy is then used to disenfranchise people and communities of color. This erases the historical contributions of people and communities of color.”

In other words, math is racist.

SCARRED FOR LIFE: Post-Op Transgenders Start Movement to Encourage People to ‘Detransition’

A movement is building of hundreds of transgender individuals who desperately want to return to their birth sex after realizing they made a grave mistake with their transition, Sky News has reported.

The movement is starting in Britain, where a charity called The Detransition Advocacy Network is being set up to help people return to their birth sex. They intend to provide support to detransitioners against pressure from the rabid LGBT community that is actively recruiting to their dangerous lifestyle.

The creator of the group, 28-year-old Charlie Evans, has detransitioned publicly and notes that young and mentally ill people are being recruited by the LGBT agenda. These vulnerable groups are being coerced by LGBT activists into taking drugs such as puberty blockers and putting their genitals under the knife.

“I’m in communication with 19 and 20-year-olds who have had full gender reassignment surgery who wish they hadn’t, and their dysphoria hasn’t been relieved, they don’t feel better for it,” Evans told Sky News. “They don’t know what their options are now.”

Drag Queen Reading to Children Tours in Adult ‘Gender Fluids’ Show

The Minnesota Hennepin County Library recently hired drag queen Russ King, an adult entertainer who is touring the country in a show called Gender Fluids, to read to young children.
The library is located in Richfield, Minnesota, King’s hometown, where he is considered a local celebrity.

According to Alpha News, King, aka “Miss Richfield 1981,” read several books to young children during the event, including Neither, a book that is now interpreted as having a “genderfluid” main character. At the end of his story-telling, King sang a rendition of “Somewhere Over the Rainbow.”

Alpha News reported:

The first book Russ read to the tots was called “Neither” – which explained how some people are neither a boy or a girl and are called “this or that or they.” The second book he read was called “Rainbow” – where he taught the kids the meaning behind every stripe in the LGB [sic] flag so they could pledge allegiance to the Rainbow Flag – not the American flag.
