Washington is in mourning today as the news broke that virulent Trump antagonist Elijah Cummings has passed away at the age of 68, depriving Nancy Pelosi’s high Soviet council in the House Of Representatives of one of its key voices.
The now-former chairman of the House Oversight Committee spent his final days issuing a flurry of subpoenas and raging against an election that he didn’t agree with rather than with his family and it only got him a casket in the end.
Cummings died at Johns Hopkins Hospital at approximately 2:45 am and just like that, the impeachment kangaroo court has lost one of its leading figures.
He was most recently in the news when Trump blasted him over his “rat and rodent-infested” shithole of a district that includes Baltimore, a once-great American city that has a murder and crime rate normally found in third-world countries – not to mention poverty, squalor and of course, the rats.

Maryland Rep. Elijah E. Cummings died early Thursday due to complications from longstanding health challenges, his congressional office said. He was 68.
A sharecropper’s son, Cummings became the powerful chairman of a U.S. House committee that investigated President Donald Trump, and was a formidable orator who passionately advocated for the poor in his black-majority district, which encompasses a large portion of Baltimore as well as more well-to-do suburbs.
As chairman of the House Oversight and Reform Committee, Cummings led multiple investigations of the president’s governmental dealings, including probes in 2019 relating to the president’s family members serving in the White House.
Trump responded by criticizing the Democrat’s district as a “rodent-infested mess” where “no human being would want to live.” The comments came weeks after Trump drew bipartisan condemnation following his calls for Democratic congresswomen of color to get out of the U.S. “right now,” and go back to their “broken and crime-infested countries.”
Cummings replied that government officials must stop making “hateful, incendiary comments” that only serve to divide and distract the nation from its real problems, including mass shootings and white supremacy.
“Those in the highest levels of the government must stop invoking fear, using racist language and encouraging reprehensible behavior,” Cummings said in a speech at the National Press Club.

Some have speculated that there was more to Cummings’ hatred of Trump than anything that the bombastic billionaire outsider has done on the job and that his animosity was largely a result of his own racism – an idea that merits at least some consideration given the conduct of the entire Congressional Black Caucus toward the president, to a member, they have savagely attacked the man since before he was even inaugurated.
There is also likely a lingering resentment over the fact that America’s first black president was limited to two-terms by the U.S. Constitution because let’s face it, none of those racist clowns even bothered to give Trump a chance and have been out to destroy him from day one.
Cummings checks out as his wife is dogged by ethics issues over a charity that she runs and that may have been given favorable treatment by Cummings in his official capacity.
The media’s tributes to this demagogic charlatan will be as vomit-inducing as they were for John McCain, another sworn enemy of Trump who was in the end, consumed by his own hatred.
It is should be pointed out that with a good amount of House Democrats being of advanced age and similarly stressed out over their inability to get Trump could also kick the bucket as TDS may weed out some of the septuagenarians and octogenarians as God takes care of what the voters in their home districts fail to do.
His death brings to mind one of the great exchanges from the Reagan-era classic movie Red Dawn:
