Here at Def-Con News we have a template for “liberal outrage” stories: Simply input the thing that Trump did causing so much leftist rage and the article is generated on a predictable liberal response. Today that thing is Trump using the word “lynching” to describe the democrats’ illegal secret impeachment inquiry (AKA coup attempt). The liberal outrage has nothing to do with the fact that the impeachment is an extrajudicial undertaking, but rather that white people like the President aren’t allowed to use certain words without being racist.
As with all liberal outrage, it begins with a Trump tweet:
So some day, if a Democrat becomes President and the Republicans win the House, even by a tiny margin, they can impeach the President, without due process or fairness or any legal rights. All Republicans must remember what they are witnessing here – a lynching. But we will WIN!
— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) October 22, 2019
At the core, a lynching is a conviction and sentence without due process, which is exactly what the House democrats are trying to do with their behind-closed-doors unofficial impeachment inquiry. They aren’t giving the President a fair trail, they won’t let him defend himself, and they won’t allow him to face his accusers. Lynching is the most appropriate term for what Pelosi and Schiff are trying to do.
But “orange man bad” and “racism” so obviously Trump is way out of line here. Let’s see what soon-to-be ex-presidential candidate Cory Booker has to say:
Lynching is an act of terror used to uphold white supremacy. Try again. pic.twitter.com/TcDR01XelB
— Cory Booker (@CoryBooker) October 22, 2019
Lynching wasn’t only used against black people and, in fact, most people who have ever been lynched were not black so maybe Booker should try again. In the case of the unconstitutional impeachment inquiry, it is being used to uphold democratic party supremacy.
Fellow low-polling democratic candidate Kamala Harris also thinks Trump is racist:
Lynching is a reprehensible stain on this nation’s history, as is this President. We’ll never erase the pain and trauma of lynching, and to invoke that torture to whitewash your own corruption is disgraceful. https://t.co/XOlsazwwRL
— Kamala Harris (@KamalaHarris) October 22, 2019
Isn’t Kamala Harris trying to whitewash her own party’s complicity in lynching? It sure as hell wasn’t Republicans stringing up black people in the segregated South.
The message is quite clear: no one may flippantly use the term “lynching” to describe anything other than white people killing black people in the democrat-controlled post-Civil War South. Wouldn’t it be weird if both Booker and Harris callously used this word?
Here’s @CoryBooker and @KamalaHarris likening the @JussieSmollett (fake) hate crime to a “lynching” pic.twitter.com/PEnbpRdeZN
— Tom Elliott (@tomselliott) October 22, 2019
So a hate crime hoax can be a “modern day lynching” but an an actual extrajudicial attack on President Trump cannot? Presumably Harris and Booker being people of color allows them an exemption from this rule against using “lynching.”
What then, explains this tweet from white guy Rob “Meathead” Reiner?
Democracy is being lynched by a Racist Liar.
— Rob Reiner (@robreiner) October 22, 2019
Dude, that is some serious racism right there. Democracy isn’t black people. How can Reiner get away with using the word “lynching” so inappropriately here? Oh wait, after reviewing the rules, made by liberals, it turns out liberals don’t have to follow the rules. These are things that only apply to everyone else. Whew, that was close. Meathead almost looked like a racist.
The DCN Auto-Bot 3000 that generated this liberal outrage story covers the faux outrage at President Trump, the fact-free nature of that outrage, and the ensuing liberal hypocrisy over that faux Trump-related outrage. It also has a plug-in to point out that liberals still haven’t figured out that President Trump is playing them like a fiddle. That he knows he can trigger this response anytime he wants with a single tweet.
