Biden Defends Obama’s Deportation Record By Claiming Immigration Law was Different Then

Joe Biden has embarked on a “No Malarkey” tour of Iowa, but so far it’s been nothing but malarkey. He munched on his wife’s hand, lied that he hangs out with Kim Jong Un, and called a retired farmer “fat.” Now he’s defending Barack Obama’s deportation record by trying to claim that the immigration laws were different back then. Keep in mind that Biden has only been stamping out malarkey for less than week.

Biden let Telemundo and NBC journalist José Díaz-Balart on his “No Malarkey” bus for a heaping helping of poached malarkey. Díaz-Balart brought up the fact that Obama deported lots of illegal aliens, something that only recently became shocking.

“The Obama-Biden legacy includes more than 3 million people deported in years that you were in power, and some of the structures that were created during there they have really been the ones that President Trump built upon to have his zero tolerance, family separation policy. Should you be apologizing for anything?” Díaz-Balart asked.

“No, I think what we should be doing is acknowledging that comparing what President Obama did and what Trump did is night and day,” Biden responded.

“No, but the numbers are there,” Díaz-Balart countered.

“No, no, no, no, no,” Biden argued.

“Mr. Vice President. The numbers are there. More than 3 million deported,” said Díaz-Balart.

“No, no,” continued Biden, adding, “That was what the law was at the time.”

Oh really? So the immigration law is different now and that’s why Trump is horrible?

Biden tried to change the subject by claiming he would win in deep red states by pushing an open borders/amnesty agenda, which is ludicrous, but Díaz-Balart wasn’t having it. He wanted Biden to answer for the Obama administration’s deportation record.

“Do you have anything to apologize for with the 3 million people that were deported, with the creation of a system that this current administration has been able to utilize to separate families?” Díaz-Balart asked.

“No, nothing,” replied Biden.

Biden started rambling about kids in school, so Díaz-Balart tried to reel him back in.

“Did you speak up for the immigrant community in those eight years?” Díaz-Balart asked.

“Yes I did speak up for the immigrant community, but I’m not going to get into anything I had difference with the president on,” Biden said.

Biden then claimed he spoke up publicly against deportation, which is not true, and reiterated that the immigration law was different back then.

“Under the law, that’s was the law required at the time,” Biden claimed.

Fact check: the United States immigration law is exactly the same now as it was when Barack Obama was president. Congress hasn’t passed any immigration laws since Obama left office and Trump became President.

What Biden is trying to claim is that Obama had no choice to deport illegal aliens because that was the law at the time while also saying the law has now changed and President Trump is cruel for doing the exact same thing the previous administration did.

Where is the liberal media to call out this blatant malarkeyism? I’m not going to hold my breath, but I am looking forward to what else happens on Joe Biden’s “No Malarkey” tour.
