As part of his response to the coronavirus, President Trump announced a 30-day ban on travel from Europe. Because this came from Trump, naturally liberals think it’s racist. CNN went full-TDS and accused the President of xenophobia, implying that his response to a global pandemic is somehow racist. Remember folks, this is a ban on people from Europe, the home of white people, but Trump is super-racist for not letting white Europeans travel to America for a month.
President Trump gave an Oval Office speech Wednesday night to address the coronavirus. Fox News reports:
President Trump on Wednesday announced in a televised address that the U.S. is suspending all travel from Europe to the U.S. for 30 days beginning Friday at midnight in an effort to slow the spread of coronavirus.
The president struck a serious tone during his address from the Oval Office and said, “We made a lifesaving move with early action on China. Now we must take the same action with Europe.”
His address came hours after the World Health Organization declared the COVID-19 a global pandemic and the number of confirmed cases in the U.S. climbed to more than 1,200. Trump said the new travel exemptions do not apply to the United Kingdom.
The proclamation only applies to humans, not goods and cargo, a White House official told Fox News. Those transporting goods will “not be admitted into the country, but the goods will be.”
Trump later signed a Presidential Proclamation suspends the entry of most foreign nationals who visited certain European countries in the past two weeks. The suspension does not apply to legal permanent residents, according to the statement.
The liberal reaction has been a collective freak out because, as I said, this came from Trump and the left is under contractual obligation to lose their shit no matter what the President does.
CNN, in particular, went bonkers over this announcement. First up is CNN tater tot Brian Stelter:
Trump’s Oval Office address was exactly what his Fox wingmen needed – now Sean Hannity et al can celebrate the new travel ban – while evading the real scourge of community spread within the US
— Brian Stelter (@brianstelter) March 12, 2020
Since when did Sean Hannity, or President Trump for that matter, call for a travel ban on Europeans? This is Stelter falsely equating the coronavirus Europe ban with President Trump’s terrorism travel ban that liberals deceptively called a “Muslim ban.” What Stelter is getting at here is that Trump’s temporary moratorium on European travel is racist and xenophobic.
CNN’s Chris Cillizza also saw some xenophobia/racism in Trump’s address:
To be clear: It DOES not matter where the virus came from or if it is a “foreign virus.”
It matters that it is in the U.S. now.
— Chris Cillizza (@CillizzaCNN) March 12, 2020
Well actually, it does matter where the virus comes from, which is why President Trump has banned travel from China. It also maters where the outbreak is out of control, which is why President Trump banned travel from Europe. The only thing that doesn’t matter here is the partisan hacks at CNN who only exist to attack President Trump’s every move.
Speaking of which, CNN’s biggest hack, Jim Acosta, went into full hysterics. While talking to fellow hack Chris “Fake News Fredo” Cuomo, Acosta accused President Trump of using the coronavirus as an excuse to keep illegal aliens out of the country. No, really.
“I don’t think many of us were expecting the president to announce to a travel ban from Europe for 30 days starting at Friday at midnight. That is stunning. That is going to cause major disruptions to the travel industry and cause all kinds of problems that we haven’t seen since the Trump Administration tried the travel ban very early on in the administration,” said Acosta.
The Trump administration didn’t “try” a travel ban, they achieved it, but this is once again someone from CNN trying to tie the coronavirus European ban to the anti-terrorism ban.
Acosta had more:
“At one point during the address the President referred to the coronavirus as a quote, ‘foreign’ virus,.’ That is interesting because I was talking to sources this evening, one of the points that the president wanted to make tonight, wanted to get across to Americans is that this virus did not start here, but that they are dealing with it,” Acosta.
The virus started in Wuhan, China, which as most people know, is not America, thus making it a foreign virus. Acosta doesn’t care about facts, his job is to literally freak the f*ck out any time Trump says or does anything.
“Now why the president would go as far as to describe it as a ‘foreign’ virus, that is something we’ll also be asking questions about. But it should be pointed out that Stephen Miller, who is an immigration hardliner who advises the president is one of the top domestic policy advisers and speech writer, was a driving force in writing this speech and I think it is going to come across to a lot of Americans as smacking of xenophobia to use that kind of term in this speech,” finished Acosta.
It’s nice of Jim Acosta to tell us how we should think about president Trump, isn’t? What he’s actually saying is that Trump’s choice of words are xenophobic and related to his “racist” desire to secure our borders and enforce existing immigration laws.
Liberal cities have cancelled all kinds of events and banned people from congregating in public. Liberal universities have cancelled classes. That’s fine because it came from liberals. President Trump has placed a temporary ban on travel from Europe and he’s the most racist person that has ever lived. That pretty much sums up liberal stupidity and Trump Derangement Syndrome.
