Liberals banned plastic bags because they say grown adults can’t be trusted with them. Now, it turns out those stupid reusable bags can transmit the coronavirus so these same liberals are having to un-ban plastic bags. Citing a public health crisis, the Governor of Massachusetts is banning reusable grocery bags and mandating plastic ones. Don’t liberals ever get tired of being wrong?
WVCB reports:
Gov. Charlie Baker on Wednesday announced a new public health order related to grocery stores and pharmacies in Massachusetts, which includes a temporary ban on reusable bags.
The order also prohibits stores from charging for paper and plastic bags while the order is in place.
Boston Mayor Marty Walsh had previously announced the same measures in the city.
“From now on, reusable bags are prohibited and all regulations on plastic bag bans are lifted,” said Gov. Baker.
I am well aware that Governor Baker is a Republican but that doesn’t mean he doesn’t skew left. That’s why I chose the word “liberal” and not “democrat” for this article. Besides, all plastic bag bans across the country are 100% owned by liberals.
While liberals were “saving the planet” by banning plastic bags and forcing us to use those reusable death bags, Greg Gutfeld from Fox News saw this coming from a million miles away:
Six years ago, in my book, “Not Cool,” on page 136, I warned readers of reusable shopping bags. One study linked them to a 46 percent increase in deaths from foodborne illnesses. They raise the risk by harboring viruses that can go from your bag to the food you share with your family.
Reusable feed bags might have also killed millions of piglets seven years ago by spreading a novel swine virus. Other research among humans shows how viruses spread with similar bags, making people sick.
So why is this important? As states ban plastic bags, you’re supposed to rely on reusable bags. Which, in a time like this, ain’t good. We’re told to steer clear of contaminated surfaces, yet we carry one to stores, schools, and workplaces. And we put our food in it.
Right now, it makes sense to postpone these bans.
Hell, we’re postponing everything else. It’s a vector we can control.
So the good news? We aren’t running out of food, and we probably won’t.
The bad news? Those bags you put your food in aren’t helping.
Some viruses spread through good intentions gone bad.
The best intention now is to ask for single-use bags — plastic or paper.
Don’t conservatives ever get tired of being right?
California, Connecticut, Delaware, Hawaii, Maine, New York, Oregon and Vermont all have bans on single-use plastic bags. Many of those places are also coronavirus hot spots. Also many of those places have banned working or going outside for a walk. Maybe get rid of the virus-bomb reusable bags and let people work and live instead.
No seriously, many of these liberal places have closed gun stores so people can’t even buy ammo during a national crisis, but mandate coronavirus-harboring cloth bags. There ain’t no coronavirus on a copper-jacketed piece of lead traveling 1510 fps.
The only thing that would make this better is if scientists discovered using plastic straws prevents the spread of coronavirus. Or that driving a Prius makes a person more likely to contract he virus. Maybe the coronavirus pandemic is Mother Nature’s way of telling liberals they are completely full of shit.
