Biden’s Campaign Blew Up in a Bad Way

Via American Greatness

Like a fly blasted with insecticide, Biden and his campaign will buzz around for a few days in insouciant denial, but their levitation should finally be over.

The fraudulent Biden campaign effectively blew up on Thursday night in Nashville.

After five days of intensive subterranean preparation, Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden was coherent and gaffe-free for the first hour and got to the end without any horrifying blunders, though he trailed off into grammatical chaos and jumbled articulation a couple of times. There were relatively few interruptions and no persistent interruptions and neither candidate was acoustically or behaviorally irritating.

The moderator, Kristen Welker, was fair and efficient. President Trump skillfully cast himself as an “outsider” who gets and has produced results, facing an insider who has accomplished precious little useful after 47 years paddling and wallowing in the public trough and moving steadily to the left.

Trump finally gave a spirited and plausible defense of his COVID leadership and gave voice to the national impatience with a policy of panic and defeatism. He exhorted the audience: “Learn to live with it,” and the former vice president, in what presumably he thought was a clever rejoinder, said that “We will have to learn to die with it.” Trump, in turn, referred effectively, but unhistrionically, to his own bout with the coronavirus.

Trump’s dismissal of his opponent as “a politician, you’re all talk and no action” was a direct hit, especially when followed by demands to know what had been preventing Biden in his previous 47 years in Washington from doing what he now promises to achieve.

Trump debunked most of the traditional Democratic smears against him. He pointed at the fraudulence of most of the claims of illegally entering families from Latin America being separated from their children when most of the children are just props used to facilitate their entry, and when separated the pretended parents vanish into America and are never seen again.

Biden declined to acknowledge that it was the Obama Administration that built the “cages” on the southern border, and Trump finally hung the vice president and his family’s dealings with Ukraine, Russia, and China around his opponent’s neck like a toilet seat.

About the “Laptop from Hell”

Biden was pushed into claiming that the laptop of his son retrieved from a computer repair shop in Wilmington, Delaware was a plant created by the Russians.

Although it appears that the Bidens collected approximately $10 million from Russia, China, and Ukraine while Joe Biden was vice president, the Democratic nominee solemnly declared that there was “nothing unethical” in his son’s conduct.

Biden clung to the moth-eaten fraud that the allegations against his son were Russian disinformation (despite U.S. intelligence community denials), and the latest Democratic counter-charge about Trump having a Chinese bank account was dismissed by the president with statements that he had opened one for corporate purposes but closed it two years before he became president. He further noted that the $750 referred to as his taxes in one year were a filing fee and that he had in fact pre-paid tens of millions of dollars in taxes. He reminded viewers that the IRS and the Mueller investigation had gone meticulously through all of his records and tax returns and had not found or alleged one misdirected cent.

At different times in the course of the 90-minute debate, Biden denied that his medical plan consisted of “socialized medicine,” though in fact that is what his “public option” would be. He claimed that no one lost their medical plans or doctor relationships under Obamacare, when it is a notorious and indisputable fact that millions of people did. He denied that in the debate over the Crime Bill in 1994 he had ever referred to African Americans as “super predators,” and he denied that he had ever advocated the banning of fracking. There are countless videos of his calling for a ban on fracking and of his disparaging references to the “super predators.”

Bill Gates: ‘Shutting down’ economy not nearly enough to stem climate change — we need to ‘get rid of emissions from all the different sectors’

Via The Blaze

Billionaire Microsoft founder and climate activist Bill Gates said Monday that large-scale economic shutdowns are “nowhere near sufficient” to curtail climate change. Rather, we need “to get rid of emissions from all the different sectors.”

Gates made the remarks during a keynote address for the National Academy of Medicine’s 2020 annual meeting, which this year was titled, “Confronting Urgent Threats to Human Health & Society: COVID-19 and Climate Change.”

“The change in behavior, like driving less or flying less, is helpful but nowhere near sufficient — 2020 is a great example of this,” Gates said. “We’ve cut down carbon emission with these drastic changes in the economy, but the reduction in emissions is actually quite modest.”

He noted that this year, even with the implementation of large-scale economic shutdowns in many places around the world due to the coronavirus pandemic, the global emissions rate was only cut by 8%, according to International Energy Association estimates.

“Simply shutting down [the economy] is not going to get [us] to our goal,” he concluded. “So just like we need innovation for COVID-19, we also need that to get rid of emissions from all the different sectors and bring down climate change.”

“This crosses many areas,” Gates continued. “How we make electricity, how we make industrial products, grow food, cool our buildings, and all of transportation.”

Gates recently reiterated many of the same details during a discussion with Bloomberg News as a part of the Bloomberg Green Festival, in which the tech billionaire argued stopping climate change is a much bigger problem than the coronavirus pandemic.

Tackling climate changes, he said, would require starting “many decades ahead of when you want that solution deployed” and involve nearly every key infrastructure sector.

“Transport, industry, buildings, electricity, all of those things — and agriculture — contribute to emissions. For many of these sources of emissions, we have no solutions,” he added. “With climate, we need … increased speed and more. We need policies, we need more [research and development] money, we need more risk capital because of all those hard areas.”

How Coronavirus Helped China Tighten Its Vise Grip On Hollywood

Via The Federalist

“Hollywood will be more beholden to the CCP now,” Chris Fenton texted me on Monday, responding to news of the inevitable. China’s box office is now officially projected to surpass North America’s in 2020.

Long seen by industry insiders as an unavoidable certainty, China’s impending dominance at the box office has serious geopolitical implications. The pandemic, greatly worsened by Beijing’s malfeasance, accelerated the Middle Kingdom’s climb to the top, as North American theaters are still struggling to open and attract moviegoers this late in the year.

According to Variety, most theaters in China are now open and able to operate at 75 percent capacity. Roughly 16 percent of American theaters remain closed, according to Deadline’s estimate.

Artisan Gateway reports the Chinese figure at $1.99 billion and $1.94 billion for the North American box office. The competition remains close, however, as Variety notes “Comscore has an aggregate of $2.1 billion for North America, which puts the gross still slightly behind.”

The larger point, as Hollywood executive Fenton emphasized, is that Beijing now possesses even more leverage over the already compliant film industry, and the lockdowns provided a boost. As we’ve documented extensively at The Federalist, much of Hollywood eagerly complies with Chinese Communist Party censorship demands, preemptive or otherwise, in order to tap into the country’s growing market.

Hollywood’s ethical dilemma with China mirrors those facing other industries, tempting titans to do ever more business in the country while the CCP grows ever more repressive. That cooperation may be good for bottom lines, but it also aids China’s soft power initiatives at a time Beijing is engaged in mass detention, torture, population control, and other human rights violations against ethnic minorities like the Uyghur Muslims.

“Of course China is leveraging market access to extend the Communist Party’s arm and export its authoritarian ideology internationally,” Sen. Marco Rubio, R-Fla., told me in January. “What’s especially disturbing to me is how willing American film studios are to self-censor and carry water for the CCP.”

The CAREN Law: San Francisco To Vote On Punishing Citizens For Calling Police On Blacks

Via VDare.com

The CAREN act passed unanimously: CAREN Act: San Francisco officials vote unanimously to ban racially-motivated 911 calls, ABC, October 22, 2020.

Seriously, just make it illegal to call 911 on black people. It’s where we headed as a society. Call it the Emmett Till Act.

San Francisco officials to vote on ‘CAREN’ law to stop 911 calls against Black people not committing crime: The city’s Board of Supervisors will vote on the Caution Against Racial and Exploitative Non-Emergencies Act, Fox News, October 20, 2020
Fed up with white people calling 911 about people of color selling water bottles, barbecuing or otherwise going about with life, San Francisco supervisors are set to approve new hate crime legislation giving the targets of those calls the ability to sue the caller.

The San Francisco Board of Supervisors will vote Tuesday on the Caution Against Racial and Exploitative Non-Emergencies Act, also known as the CAREN legislation. The name is a nod to a widespread meme using the name “Karen” to describe a specific type of white, middle-aged woman, who exhibits behaviors that stem from privilege, such as using the police to target people of color.

All 11 supervisors have signed on to the legislation, guaranteeing its passage, despite criticism by some that the name is sexist and unnecessarily divisive.

In San Francisco, a white couple was criticized on social media after video was widely shared of their questioning a Filipino American stenciling “Black Lives Matter” in front of his own home in June. They later called police.

James Juanillo said he deliberately chose yellow chalk to match the color of the house, and centered the stencil just so to be framed by the picture box window. Then a couple approached him, repeatedly demanding to know if this was his home because he was defacing private property.

“They tried to cast it as a criminal scene,” he said. “It was me calmly applying chalk, not spray paint, not in the middle of the night but very deliberately. The only thing that was missing was a pinot grigio.”

Juanillo said he hopes the legislation will caution people in the future against turning to 911.

Shamann Walton, the supervisor who introduced the legislation said, “911 calls and emergency reports are not customer service lines for racist behavior.

“People of color have the right to do everyday activities and should not be subject to being harassed due to someone’s racial bias.”

Walton, who is Black, reeled off examples where minorities have suffered from bogus claims, including Emmitt Till, a Black teenager beaten to death in 1955 after accusations by a white woman who later admitted to lying.

It is crushing to be confronted by police, say supporters of the legislation, because someone saw you as a threat, possibly criminal or as not belonging. It’s especially terrifying for Black people for whom encounters with police could end in violence.

“This is not hyperbole,” said Brittni Chicuata, chief of staff at the city’s Human Rights Commission. “This is an established pattern reflected in the disparate treatment of Black people and other people of color in our city and in our country.”

In May, Amy Cooper, a white woman, called 911 from Manhattan’s Central Park, frantically and falsely claiming that an African American man — who had politely asked her to leash her dog — was threatening her.

The entire Black Lives Matter movement exists to basically legalize black criminality.

Celebrities Dress Up As Chickens And Plead For People To Vote In New PSA

Via The Daily Caller

Celebrities dressed up in chicken costumes and pleaded with people to get out there and vote in a new PSA ahead of the 2020 election.

In the clip posted on YouTube from The Creative Coalition, stars like Jason Alexander, Mayim Bialik, Tim Daly, Jon Cryer and Yvette Nicole Brown appear as chickens having a Zoom call while they discussed how for the first time ever a fox is running for president of the hen house against a fellow chicken. The video was noted by Fox News in a piece published Thursday.

“So, how’s everybody doing?” Alexander asked the group. “Handling it or starting to feel…Cooped up?

The conversation continued as one of them inquired who everyone was voting for.

“Does it matter?” Bialik’s character replied. “They’re all the same.”

“Really?” Daly responded. “This is the first time a fox is running for president of the henhouse.”

In the PSA to get people out there and vote, they do not once mention President Donald Trump or Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden.

The “Seinfeld” star‘s character then comes on screen and said how close the race is and how “one vote” could make all the difference.

“One vote could make the difference between a chicken or a fox guarding our henhouse,” Alexander’s character explained. “If it comes down to a handful of votes, yours could be the one that swings it.”

In the end all the chickens lean in to the camera and plead “Everybody please vote!”
