If you live in the country, or even some suburbs, you know how irritating it is to have racoons climbing on your fences. I have been known to shoot them off of them myself when they were going after my ducks. Here we have a similar situation.
An L.A. County Sheriff’s Deputy killed a three time convicted felon while he was brandishing a gun and attempting to flee, while armed, by jumping a fence.
LASD Releases Body Cam Footage Of Deputy Fatally Shooting Armed Man
WILLOWBROOK (CBSLA) — The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Friday released body camera footage of a deputy fatally shooting a 25-year-old Black man in Willowbrook.
Let’s pause and take a look at the crime stats for Willowbrook to see what kind of neighborhood it is. Areavibes.com rates it an “F” as far as it’s crime rating, stating that its total crime rate in 77% above the national average, 84% above the national average for violent crime, and 75% above the average for property crime. It also states that in Willowbrook you have a “1 in 23 chance of becoming a victim of crime.” Not good stats.
It is located right next door to Compton and Lynwood which should give you some idea of the demographics involved. It’s only 22% white. I leave it at that. The story continues . . .
The footage shows the man, identified by the coroner’s office as Fred Williams III, on top of a garden shed with a firearm in his hand. He is then seen jumping to the yard of another property, at which point the deputy shoots him.

By the looks of him and his criminal record, this deputy did all of society a favor of removing him from the gene pool. And how do you get three felony convictions by age 25 and are still out free menacing society?!?

The shooting happened at about 5:30 p.m. Oct. 16 after deputies saw Williams holding a handgun and standing with a group of about 15 people in the area of Mona Park. Williams then allegedly put the gun in his waistband and ran away.
One deputy pursued him on foot and another deputy followed in a patrol vehicle, according to the sheriff’s department. Photos previously released showed Williams with a handgun in his waist as he ran through the yard of a residence in the 2200 block of East 122nd Street.
The sheriff’s department alleges that Williams “engaged the deputy by pointing his firearm at him at which point a deputy involved shooting occurred,” but that is not clearly shown in the video.

It is hard to tell if the animal was pointing it’s gun at the deputy of not. It looks like it to me, and while running and gunning, would you take the chance that he wasn’t? I would absolutely not take that chance and put a round in him. As always, he ran, was armed, disobeyed commands, and got what comes from that behavior. A trip to morgue.
And whether he pointed that gun at the deputy or not, would you let a three time loser get away with a gun in his hand to endanger the rest of the populace and perhaps your fellow LEOs? Again, I wouldn’t.
A full autopsy report has not been completed, but the coroner’s office has reported that Williams was shot in the back.
Oh no! Let’s riot! But if you look at the picture above, that was the vast majority of the target area he presented and a deputy who just got done running a great distance was able to hit that rapidly moving target with one shot. Hats off to him.
Williams had been convicted three times of burglary, according to the sheriff’s department, and was on parole and prohibited from owning a firearm.
And once again those strict CA gun laws have failed.
“Homicide investigators will continue to investigate this incident by completing additional interviews, examining additional evidence and toxicology results, and completing forensic reviews of the involved evidence,” Matt Burson, chief of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department’s Professional Standards Division, said.

Look at about 5:50 into the video. Although critters are known for their affinity for grabbing their junk, you can bet this was not the case here. He’s trying to keep his firearm from slipping out of his waistband and clattering to the pavement.

So this thing is dead. Good. I’m only sorry the incident didn’t show any blood. But like the racoons I’ve shot of my fence, the bodies usually fall into the neighbors yard. Burglars. Besides pedophiles, perhaps the most cowardly of all criminals. They break into a house when no one is home and take what they want. Very low down on the “criminal hierarchy.” Too bad he missed prison.
