California Governor Gavin Newsom has kept the state locked down tight for the duration of the coronavirus pandemic. With Thanksgiving coming up, he’s essentially outlawed celebrating the holiday with family and friends. But that doesn’t mean he can’t still go out and get blasted with his buddies. The hypocritical democrat was busted attending a birthday bash, ignoring all of the COVID-19 mandates he’s forced on the rest of Californians.
Despite being locked down since March, California is spiking in coronavirus cases, proving that lockdowns and mask mandates are useless. Gov. Newsom however wants to continue this uselessness and even make it more restrictive.
“California just surpassed a sobering threshold – [1] million COVID-19 cases – with no signs of the virus slowing down. Increased cases are adding pressure on our hospital systems and threatening the lives of seniors, essential workers and vulnerable Californians. Travel increases the risk of spreading COVID-19, and we must all collectively increase our efforts at this time to keep the virus at bay and save lives,” said Newsom on Friday.
It’s unclear what new draconian rules Newsom has in store for California, but ahead of the Thanksgiving holiday, he put the breaks on anything closely resembling a celebration. Here’s his “guidelines” that actually rules that must be followed:
Gatherings that include more than 3 households are prohibited. This includes everyone present, including hosts and guests.
All gatherings must be held outside. Attendees may go inside to use restrooms as long as the restrooms are frequently sanitized.
Seating must provide at least 6 feet of distance (in all directions—front-to-back and side-to-side) between different households.
Any food or beverages at outdoor gatherings must be in single-serve disposable containers.
People at gatherings may remove their face coverings briefly to eat or drink as long as they stay at least 6 feet away from everyone outside their own household, and put their face covering back on as soon as they are done with the activity.
Singing, chanting, and shouting are strongly discouraged.
Playing of wind instruments (any instrument played by the mouth, such as a trumpet or clarinet) is strongly discouraged.
Gatherings should be two hours or less.
While average Californians have to sit out in the cold eating turkey Lunchables with 2 other people for 2 hours on Thanksgiving, Governor Newsom gets to party his ass off whenever he feels like it.
Fox News reports:
California Gov. Gavin Newsom last week attended a birthday party for political adviser Jason Kinney with at least a dozen attendees…
News of the Nov. 6 outdoor party at French Laundry, an upscale restaurant in Napa Valley, came the same day Newsom — as well as Oregon Gov. Kate Brown and Washington Gov. Jay Inslee — announced a travel advisory for visitors leaving and entering their respective states ahead of Thanksgiving as the state experiences a spike in COVID-19 cases.
Newsom, who has pleaded with residents to avoid social gatherings that mix households, said in a statement Friday that “while our family followed the restaurant’s health protocols and took safety precautions, we should have modeled better behavior and not joined the dinner.”
In other words, he’s sorry that he got caught being a giant hypocrite.
While we’re on the subject, Newsom’s own guidelines clearly states, “Gatherings are defined as social situations that bring together people from different households at the same time in a single space or place. When people from different households mix, this increases the risk of transmission of COVID-19.”
What these guidelines fail to take into count is the “liberal immunity” from COVID-19. Leftists can riot and loot by the thousands, but that’s not a super-spreader event like a Trump rally. Liberals can flood the streets to celebrate Joe Biden’s election theft but that’s not risky like a small family Thanksgiving dinner. And of course the democrats who have imposed the draconian rules can flout them because lockdowns and mandates are for the peasants, not the Lords and Ladies.
