Oops, I Forgot To Riot When Cops Killed An Armed White Criminal In My Town

I hate to admit it, but I really messed up. The rule is that when someone of your own race is killed by police, even if they were armed, you’re supposed to riot. An armed white guy was killed by police not far from Def-Con News world headquarters and I, as a white guy, totally forgot to burn down or loot any local establishments. My bad.

On March 8 an employee of the Quality Inn in Burbank, California called police to report an unattended child sitting in the parking lot. When the Burbank PD responded they found a 7-year-old boy who told officers he was waiting for his dad. The boy said his dad went to
“go get a car.”

Cops learned that the boy was actually waiting for his stepdad, 30-year-old David William Kahler. The pair had fled Las Vegas in a stolen car and crashed it on the freeway near the Comfort Inn. They walked in on foot and Kahler told the boy to wait while he stole another car.

Soon, Kahler came cruising up in a boosted Honda Accord. Here’s what happened when police approached Kahler. This is the Burbank PD bodycam footage that was released on Wednesday:

Keep watching the video, there are several different bodycam angles. You can clearly see Kahler point a gun at cops before they lit him up. The police recovered a 9mm handgun from the scene.

Kahler had an extensive criminal history including convictions for weapons, assault, theft and drugs.

Sure this guy was a scumbag who pointed a gun at police officers and almost got his stepson killed, but he was white and if we’ve learned nothing over the past year, when one of yours is killed by the cops it’s riot time.

I remember when this happened so I don’t really have any excuse for not rioting in the name of racial justice. And the thing is, right down the street from this shooting are a Target, Walmart, and Costco which would have been ripe for looting to help the white community heal.

So much time has passed since this happened that it would seem weird to start rioting now. I don’t know what the etiquette on this is, but I feel like you have to start rioting immediately before the facts are in.

I actually just got a call from the White Al Sharpton and he reminded me that white people don’t blindly support white criminals who get killed doing stupid shit like pointing guns at cops. He assured me that I had no racial obligation to torch a courthouse or establish an autonomous zone. I’m free to be thankful that my hometown police took out a dangerous criminal and that none of them were hurt doing the often thankless job of keeping us safe.

I must say, that’s quite a relief. In these ridiculous times, any slip up can get you exiled. I’d hate for cancel culture to smear my otherwise good name because I failed to riot properly in response to a justified police use of lethal force.
