Republicans Keep Making Completely Unforced Errors So The Media Will Like Them

Via The Federalist

Leadership isn’t imposed from speeches by people who had power and failed to exercise it prudently, and no one wants to hear from Paul Ryan.

Critical race theory is targeting our children and infiltrating our media. Boys are being subjected to castration by mentally ill parents and their enablers in the mental health and medical fields.

Hollywood, the National Basketball League, and leading tech companies are subservient to a fiercely hostile foreign dictatorship. Democrats have launched an inquisition against their political opponents under the banner of the 9/11 Commission and with unlimited access to Congress’s documents. Businesses cannot find young workers to hire while the federal government pays them to stay home.

Instead this week, the news is about how House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy took the stage to condemn a back-bencher in his own caucus. Not content to be left out of a suicide party, former Speaker Paul Ryan took a break from his corporate boards Thursday, announcing he would give a speech to denounce former President Donald Trump.

Of course, if McCarthy doesn’t want to be bogged down by comments from a popular but ill-disciplined freshman member of his caucus, then he shouldn’t be — and the not-so-difficult trick to that is not talking about it. If he needs a pointer or an instructional YouTube video on the subject, he can do a quick web search for “Nancy Pelosi asked about antisemitic ‘Squad.’”

As for Ryan, if he doesn’t want the GOP to be a party of Trump, then he might present a serious alternative and not more of the same policies and platforms that saw him on the losing presidential ticket (against a then-unpopular President Barack Obama) then saw him leave Washington with little done aside from panel discussions and news articles about how “wonky” he was.

“A big part of the upheaval we’re experiencing in American politics is because the leadership of both parties lacks any coherent vision,” conservative consultant Jordan Gehrke wrote in April, addressing the kvetching of many of his peers and colleagues — and he’s completely right.

Leadership isn’t imposed from speeches by people who had power and failed to exercise it prudently, and no one wants to hear from Paul Ryan. In the same vein, leadership is setting the path forward and not playing the statement game with a hostile, dishonest, and deeply discredited corporate media rage machine.

While Ryan’s tenure was nearly useless, McCarthy’s has been far from it. The House’s gains in 2016 owe some credit to his understanding of the political moment he was in and acting accordingly. But the same fault as Ryan’s holds him back from truly steering an already difficult Republican caucus: the deep urge to be popular.

In any aspect of life, it is impossible to be a leader if you simply want everybody to like you. Ryan preferred the applause of the American Enterprise Institute set to fighting the left, and it showed.

When McCarthy was faced with a back-stabbing, self-serving ego-maniac on his leadership staff — and fully held the political power to end her time in leadership — he preferred instead to share the blame for kicking Rep. Liz Cheney back to the benches with the entire House caucus. The result? A drag-out fight in full view of a media who care far more for Republican infighting than they do White House reporting.

Does Pelosi play those games? MORE.

Hunter Biden bragged that he would regularly smoke crack with late D.C. Mayor Marion Barry

Via The Daily Mail

Hunter Biden smoked crack with late D.C. Mayor Marion Barry, he revealed to a friend in a recorded call obtained by DailyMail.com.

In the January 2019 conversation, Hunter bragged: ‘I actually smoked crack with Marion Barry I swear to f***ing god.’

Hunter, 51, told his friend that he would regularly smoke with Barry in the restroom of a Georgetown bar while he was an undergraduate there.

The stunning admission in the call, which was saved on Hunter’s abandoned laptop, contradicts the president’s son’s claim in his memoir that his arrest as a teenager scared him off drugs until after college.

Hunter recorded several of his calls and saved them on his laptop.

In the call with his unnamed friend, dated January 5, 2019, he chides the friend for being ‘racist’ by suggesting Martin Luther King took cocaine – but then admitted that he smoked crack with civil rights hero and infamous addict Marion Barry, the late former mayor of Washington DC.

‘Did Martin Luther King do coke? I don’t know,’ said the friend on the call. ‘With an Indian and a black man.’

‘Oh, see, you are such a racist I swear to god,’ Hunter replied. ‘No he didn’t, Jesus Christ. You’re so f***ing funny.’

‘That mayor from D.C. did,’ the friend said. ‘Marion Barry.’

‘You know what, I actually smoked crack with Marion Barry, I swear to f***ing god,’ Hunter admitted.

‘That was in Georgetown. And he used to go to a place right next to [local bar] The Guards. And I was a sophomore I guess, I was a junior when that happened.

‘But he used to come there and drink like late, late. And I would be there, and he would go to the bathroom.’ MORE.

Two men displaying ‘Trump Won’ banner escorted from Yankee game, at least one in handcuffs

Via The Blaze

Security removed two men from Yankee Stadium — one apparently in handcuffs — after the pair displayed a massive pro-Donald Trump banner during Thursday night’s game.

Photos and videos posted on social media from Thursday night’s game show the men unraveling the banner which said, “Trump Won, Save America,” and draping over the second deck behind first base.

In footage posted by Sports Illustrated reporter Max Goodman, fans can be heard loudly booing the men while others appeared to clap and cheer. At one point, one angry fan attempts to jump up and grab the banner to pull it down.

Goodman wrote in the post that it “sounded like the entire crowd was booing until security confiscated the banner, which then resulted in a loud cheer.”

Photos captured by the New York Post appear to show the two men struggling with security guards who were attempting to confiscate the banner.

In another video posted on Facebook, one of the two men is seen being escorted out of the stadium in handcuffs surrounded by a group of four or five security guards while the other man follows behind unrestrained.

As the two men were removed, fans flipped them off and shouted something along the lines of “Get Them Out!”

Lindsey Adler, who covers the Yankees for The Athletic, wrote in a tweet, “Lots of booing here after some jabronis unfurled a ‘TRUMP WON’ banner off the second deck. (He didn’t).”

“Now we have extremely loud cheering as the conspiracy theory banner people are led out of the section by security,” she added in another tweet.

The incident occurred during the second game of a doubleheader between the New York Yankees and the Toronto Blue Jays. MORE.

Oregon Is Proof That Leftist Politics Ultimately Lead To Tyranny And Decay

Via Zero Hedge

What kind of abysmal social and economic conditions would make at least five separate counties of US voters want to flee a state to join the borders of another state? Well, all it takes is a cult of insane Marxists running the entire state into the ground from the safety of their metropolitan communes while demanding that people submit their undying fealty to the draconian medical mandates of an elitist minority. Yeah, things have to get pretty bad to inspire so many people into leaving and taking half the state with them.

Portland is now a homeless tent city with walls of garbage in the streets and riots on a regular basis. The city has reported a 2000% rise in homicides, specifically after taking measures to defund local police precincts. Oregon also has a total debt of around $43 billion, which is dramatically higher than red state neighbors like Idaho and Montana. Data for 2020 to 2021 poverty and homeless rates have not been released yet, partially because cities like Portland sought to stall the federally mandated count back in January. I would not be surprised if the numbers have had an epic spike in the past year; the only question will be, is it because of covid, or is it just because of the bumbling of the lefties?

But it’s not just the economic decline that’s the issue in Oregon, it’s also the rampant suppression of individual rights through medical tyranny, along with the special government treatment of Marxist extremist groups like Antifa and BLM.

Thousands of businesses have closed in the state because of pointless lockdowns which did NOTHING to stop the natural spread of Covid, and the businesses that tried to defy the mandates in order to survive were harassed or threatened with fines by state health officials and OSHA. At the same time, local politicians have barely lifted a finger to stop leftist civil unrest. Some people say they are too weak to take action, but their meekness is more likely a show of support, a virtue signal. They want the riots to continue, at least to a certain extent.

That said, nothing tops the announcement this past week by the Oregon Health Authority, which has just issued a rule that businesses must now demand proof of vaccination before a customer may enter. If they do not have proof, they must be forced to wear a mask or they must be made to leave. This is the first time I have heard of a state actually codifying vaccine passports into their enforcement mandates, but I’m sure other blue states will follow Oregon’s lead in the near future.

Keep in mind that these rules are a threat to Oregon businesses as much as they are a threat to the regular public. As one bureaucrat from the Oregon Occupational Safety and Hazard Administration argued:

“We expect employers to comply, whichever route they take–allowing the vaccination exemption or sticking with current requirements….We will take and investigate complaints alleging employers aren’t requiring face coverings, for example, or checking vaccination status.”

Don’t forget that this guy is not a law maker, he’s a nobody. He was never elected. Most of these mandates across the country have not yet been debated by a legislature or voted on by citizens. None of the mandates are real law, they are simply Color of Law controls enforced unilaterally outside of the constitution. This is unacceptable.

As those of us in the liberty media have been warning since the beginning of the pandemic hype, the end game was always going to be vaccine passports; it was always about control of the citizenry, it was never about saving lives. We told people that vaccine passports were coming and the media called us crazy. Now Oregon is proving us right. Of course, Oregon is not the only blue state setting the standard for tyranny. Most leftist dominated states are pushing similar measures. MORE.

Matthew McConaughey Promotes Universal Masking: ‘No Data that Says It’s Harmful’

Via Breitbart

Actor Matthew McConaughey, who is weighing a gubernatorial bid in the state of Texas, is going to bat for universal mask wearing, expressing his belief that it does not take away an individual’s identity or freedom and asserting that no data exists showing the practice as harmful.

“I’m not believing you’re really scared of this little cotton thing. I don’t really feel that takes away your identity and your freedom,” the Gentleman star said during an appearance on The Carlos Watson Show.

“There’s no data that says it’s not a good thing. No data that says it’s harmful,” he continued, asking everyone to “take one for the team here.”

However, the Dallas Buyers Club actor’s assertion is not undisputed, as there are several reports alleging the daily use of masks taking a toll on people, with effects including but not limited to “acne, irritation, allergic reactions, headaches or even anxiety,” as KFDA reported.

“I noticed that I was getting a rash on my face and anxiety after two weeks of wearing a mask,” one Amarillo resident told the outlet, with another reporting irritation around their ears and the onset of migraines.

Others have reported issues breathing, leading to dizziness and disorientation. Even Dr. Anthony Fauci pointed to some of the risks involved with wearing masks last year.

McConaughey’s plea follows the CDC loosening restrictions for vaccinated individuals, allowing them to forgo a mask in most social situations. The actor has long stood as a proponent of universal masking, criticizing Texas Gov. Greg Abbott (R) after the Lone Star State governor lifted the mask mandate across the state earlier this year.

“My reaction to that is, I was a little dumbfounded by the decision,” McConaughey said at the time. “I understand ‘go back to work.’ What I did not understand was ‘pull the mask mandate.’

“It’s not the mask we’re afraid of, c’mon. It’s the word ‘mandate.’ Let’s not let the word ‘mandate’ get in the way of practical use of this little tool called a mask. It’s just a small inconvenience today for more freedom tomorrow,” he added. MORE.
