WaPo Fact-Checker Determines That Hitler’s National Socialist Party Were Not Socialists

The Washington Post has already declared that they won’t be fact-checking Joe Biden’s lies and they don’t have Trump around anymore to spread their fake news about. With nothing to write about, it is the perfect storm of irrelevancy for the liberal media, so they latched on to Republican Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene as their new boogeyman. In the mutha of all pathetic fact-checks, the WaPo has determined that the National Socialist Party (Nazis) are not socialists in a sad attempt to take down MTG.

Georgia Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene is already under fire for comparing democrats to Nazis because liberal rule #69 states that Nazi comparisons are only offensive when Republicans do them. MTG knows how to push liberal buttons, so she doubled-down to stoke the fake fires of liberal outrage:

MTG was specifically referring to AOC and her Loon Squad, which she calls the “jihad squad” who are admitted socialists. WaPo fat-checker Glenn Kessler had a hard time trying to argue that AOC’s Squad aren’t socialists, so he tried doing a little PR spin on behalf of Hitler’s Nazi Squad:

Greene’s ahistorical claim that the Nazis were socialists

Those who apparently do not know history are doomed to make basic mistakes.

It seems so simple. The official name of the Adolf Hitler’s political party — the Nazis — had the word “socialist” in it. Ergo, it must have been a socialist party. And that means that Democrats, some of whom call themselves socialists, must be Nazis. Or something like that.

Greene is not the first Republican lawmaker to make this facile observation.

Kessel then gave what he described as a “quick history lesson.”

The full name of Hitler’s party was Nationalsozialistische Deutsche Arbeiterpartei. In English, that translates to National Socialist German Workers’ Party. But it was not a socialist party; it was a right-wing, ultranationalist party dedicated to racial purity, territorial expansion and anti-Semitism — and total political control.

Yeah, socialists never try to gain total political control, except everywhere socialism has reared it’s ugly head, that is.

To prove his point, Kessel then linked to the 1920 Nazi Party platform and quoted the first 8 points. The reason why he only quoted 8 out of 25 points is because all the others are pretty damned socialist:

  1. Unification of Greater Germany (Austria + Germany)
  2. Land + expansion
  3. Anti-Versailles – abrogation of the Treaty.
  4. Land and territory – lebensraum.
  5. Only a “member of the race” can be a citizen.
  6. Anti-semitism – No Jew can be a member of the race.
  7. Anti-foreigner – only citizens can live in Germany.
  8. No immigration – ref. to Jews fleeing pograms.
  9. Everyone must work.
  10. Abolition of unearned income – “no rent-slavery”.
  11. Nationalisation of industry
  12. Divison of profits
  13. Extension of old age welfare.
  14. Land reform
  15. Death to all criminals
  16. German law, not Roman law (anti- French Rev.)
  17. Education to teach “the German Way”
  18. Education of gifted children
  19. Protection of mother and child by outlawing child labour.
  20. Encouraging gymnastics and swimming
  21. Formation a national army.
  22. Duty of the state to provide for its volk.
  23. Duty of individuals to the state
  24. Establish state religion
  25. Strong centralized power

Nationalized industry, welfare, and duty to the centralized authority are the very basics of socialism. No wonder Kessler didn’t mention these other Nazi Party platforms or people might get the idea that they were socialists.

Despite the historical fact that Nazis were socialists, Kessler tried to rewrite history with his own set of facts:

The Nazi party was largely supported by small-business men and conservative industrialists, not the proletariat. Still, left-wing parties such as the Communists and Social Democrats were major parties in 1920s Germany so the inclusion of “socialist” in the party’s name was attractive to working-class voters who might also be anti-Semitic. Hitler adamantly rejected socialist ideas, dismantled or banned left-leaning parties and disapproved of trade unions.

Are there any trade unions in socialist/communist countries? No, everyone works for the state. Do you think if the democrats complete their socialist takeover of America that there will be any trade unions?

And finally, the fact-check ruling:

We suggest Greene brush up on her history of the Nazi party. It was not a “socialist” party and cannot be compared, either in the United States or in Europe, to today’s socialists. She earns Four Pinocchios.

A Four Pinocchio rating for MTG saying the socialists of the National Socialist German Workers’ Party were socialists? Fake news is getting pathetic in the void Donald Trump has left.
