Enrique Tarrio is the Afro-Latino head of the “white supremacist” group, Proud Boys. He was just sentenced to more than 5 months in jail for burning a Black Lives Matter flag and having banned “high-capacity” magazines in Washington D.C. Interestingly enough, these activities are only illegal if right-wing guys do them because the left burns flags and carries banned weapons accessories all the time.
The Mercury News reports:
Proud Boys leader Enrique Tarrio was sentenced Monday to more than five months in jail for burning a church’s Black Lives Matter banner in December and bringing high-capacity rifle magazines to Washington, DC, days before the US Capitol insurrection.
The decision was handed down Monday by Judge Harold L. Cushenberry Jr. of DC Superior Court. Even though Tarrio was not in Washington on the day of the January 6 insurrection, the judge said Tarrio’s preceding conduct in the nation’s capital undermined American democracy.
The flag-burning incident occurred at the Asbury United Methodist Church, a historically Black church, on December 12, after Tarrio and other Proud Boys attended a pro-Trump rally in Washington that later led to violent clashes. He was arrested when he returned to DC on January 4, shortly before the Capitol insurrection, and was found with two high-capacity magazines that are banned under DC’s strict gun control laws.
In addition to accusing Tarrio of trying to destroy democracy, even though he wasn’t at the Capitol on January 6, the non-white leader of the Proud boys was also slapped with the “white supremacist” label:
In a letter to the judge ahead of sentencing, the church’s senior pastor said the flag-burning incident traumatized many of her congregants and brought back “visions of slavery, the Ku Klux Klan (and) cross burnings.”
The pastor, the Rev. Dr. Ianther M. Mills, also spoke passionately during Monday’s sentencing hearing about the long-term impact of Tarrio’s actions, condemning them as brazenly racist.
She said Tarrio led a “marauding band of angry white men… apparently looking for trouble” through the streets of DC, adding, “in our opinion, this was an act of intimidation and racism.”
Has the good Reverend ever gotten a look at Tarrio? He’s clearly not white.
In any case, when did burning a flag become a crime? Black Lives Matter burns American flags as often as they torch up blunts:
Black Lives Matter Terrorists Burn American Flag Outside FOX News HQ
Okay, that happened in NYC, but BLM was burning American flags in front of the White House last year during the George Floyd riots and not one of them was arrested or even issued a ticket for illegal campfires.
What this activist judge is saying is that the Black lIves Matter flag is more important and protected than the American flag.
Tarrio was also convicted of possessing banned magazines, not a gun, in Washington D.C. That’s a real crime, right? Well, it depends on who does it. Remember back in 2013 when a liberal journalist did it?
NBC’s David Gregory Won’t Be Charged For Showing Ammo Magazine
When NBC News’ David Gregory displayed what he said was a high-capacity ammunition magazine on Meet the Press last month, it prompted Washington, D.C., law enforcement officials to investigate whether he had broken a city law.
As Mark reported Dec. 26, D.C.’s official code says in part: “No person in the District shall possess, sell, or transfer any large capacity ammunition feeding device regardless of whether the device is attached to a firearm.”
But on Friday, D.C. prosecutors announced that Gregory would not be arrested or charged with a crime.
You won’t find a better apples-to-apples comparison than that. The liberal double-standard doesn’t just cover outrage, it extends to criminal justicer as well.
Enrique Tarrio is going to jail for doing something that the left not only gets away with but also is celebrated for. Prosecutors were only asking for 3 moths but the liberal activist judge gave him 5 months.
Isn’t it racist to unjustly persecute a person of color like this? Only if that person of color plays for the correct team.
