According to a report by Mike Glenn at the Washington Times, Afghan refugees have recently started to arrive in Texas at Fort Bliss close to El Paso. This is one of three Department of Defense locations where Afghan refugees will stay until their immigration processing is complete. This from bigleaguepolitics.com.
According to a confirmation from several officials with U.S. Army North on August 22, 2021, “a number of Afghans at risk” came to Fort Bliss on August 21. They were subsequently moved to the Dona Ana Range Complex in New Mexico. At this new location, the migrants will receive temporary housing.
Currently, the US is flying Afghan nationals from Kabul to several locations around the world. According to a statement Pentagon officials made on August 22, migrants evacuated to these facilities in the US are currently going through the State Department-run Special Immigrant Visa program.
Texas Republican Senator John Cornyn said to the El Paso Times newspaper that up to 10,000 Afghan refugees could be sent to Fort Bliss.
This is a rather surprising development when considering that under Greg Abbott’s leadership the Texas state government had previously rejected refugee resettlement. Populist Republicans within the Texas state legislature should stand up against this resettlement of Afghans within the Lone Star State.
Instead, they should proactively suggest the alternative of resettling Afghan migrants in the countries of strategic partners — Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, and United Arab Emirates — that have more compatible cultural and religious values.
Republicans should not fall for the mass migration hysteria that Open Borders Inc. is currently pushing and reject refugee resettlement.
Helping Afghans is noteworthy, particularly given the circumstances of their fleeing Afghanistan. And if authorities properly vet selected immigrants and disallow immigration to those who do not pass the vetting process it doesn’t seem there will be a problem at face value. And likely this first generation of immigrants will be grateful for America’s largesse and will not present any security problems.
However, my deeper concern for the safety of America and Americans is the second and subsequent generation of Afghan Americans. I recall having read more than one report of Muslims who had immigrated as children or were born in America as children of Muslim immigrants who presented problems.
The thought here is that the cultural differences cause psychological distress that may result in deadly problems many years from now. Hopefully I’m wrong, merely a touch of xenophobia.
But you can be certain this will contribute to the speed of Islamization of many of America’s big cities. How many do we have in congress now, half a dozen Muslims? Imagine as the numbers grow and entire cities and portions of states become ruled under Sharia law. I’ll be long gone before this “plan” takes wide effect but my grandchildren will be living in a transformed America from that which I have lived. White Christian Americans may now be the American Indian of the mid 1800s. Think about it.
Examples from throughout the world exist that denote the difficulty (read impossibility) of Islam cohabiting with other religions. Note: Yugoslavia, Israel, and Europe more recently, however, many countries stretching back hundreds of years. And Muslims don’t just have problems coexisting. They take over and subsume other cultures then disallow the practice of antagonistic cultural elements.
May God help you younger generations of Americans–All colors.
