Ron DeSantis issued a proclamation yesterday honoring Christopher Columbus and it was packed full of truth bombs. So much so that it triggered the usual, anti-Columbus leftists out there in social media. This from therightscoop.com.
Christopher Columbus displayed courage, determination, and perseverance when he sailed the ocean blue more than 500 years ago.

You can read it for yourself, but in short Governor DeSantis’s proclamation praises Columbus “as a founding father who laid the foundation for what would one day become the United States of America…”, suggesting we owe a great deal of gratitude and honor to him. It also calls out those who would revise history to make Columbus into a monster because they hate America.
But of course, leftists everyone mocked and ridiculed it and DeSantis for putting it out:
Sailed. The. Ocean. Blue.
Got it. Help me, Holy Ghost.
This is Governor of the State of Florida, folks. https://t.co/zwfutZP9yO

Did a colonizer write this?

This is a lot of words to say, "I love culture war nonsense because it distracts from all those Floridians that didn't have to die." https://t.co/M7nKv4iVk5

Meanwhile Ron DeSantis is complaining about "revising history" in a proclamation that features numerous examples of revising history https://t.co/M89A08ajnw

And then there’s the Never Trumpers who have to make everything about Trump:
You don't revise history by looking at what Columbus did – you just accept what we know today and learn from it.
Revising history would be trying to create an alternate reality such as saying Trump was the real winner of the 2020 election. https://t.co/VoKGzGMLEe

Leftists simply cannot avoid being detractors.
And detractors are just that—small people who seek to become bigger, more important by criticizing, tearing down something or someone else. Detractors also provide cover for that which is wrong or inappropriate, i.e., the democrat party and their operatives.
Would I be wrong, or perhaps be accused of being a detractor, if I were to say that liberalism is a cult? After all, a cult is a subset of the whole that has beliefs regarded by many as extreme or dangerous. A cult can also be described as a movement or group whose beliefs or practices are considered abnormal or bizarre.
No longer does liberalism mean a willingness to respect or accept behavior or opinions different from one’s own; openness to new ideas; and a political and social philosophy that promotes individual rights, civil liberties, democracy, and free enterprise.
In the America of 2021, liberalism has become the cult of the democrat political party. And the democrat party has become, without a doubt, an evil entity bent on transforming this nation into that which it was never before meant to be.
God bless America and God speed to the powers of right and true.
