Cancel culture set its sights on Las Vegas Raiders head coach John Gruden last week because 10 years ago he sent an email with something they said was racist. Actually, now it’s ex-head coach as Gruden has resigned under pressure. Additional emails came out and in one he called Joe Biden a ” clueless pussy.” Could this be the real reason he was forced out?
Gruden resigned from the Raiders in a move that was clearly coerced. In his hostage statement, he said, “I have resigned as Head Coach of the Las Vegas Raiders. I love the Raiders and do not want to be a distraction. Thank you to all the players, coaches, staff, and fans of Raider Nation. I’m sorry, I never meant to hurt anyone.”
The NFL was investigating something or other with the Washington Football Team and came across some emails Jon Gruden sent in 2011, when he was a football commentator. In one of the emails, Gruden said NFL Players Association Executive Director DeMaurice Smith had “its the size of Michelin tires.”
The NY Times reported the content of the other e-mails but I’ve used up my free articles this month on their site so we’ll let Fox News tell us what they said:
According to The New York Times, Gruden called Goodell an anti-gay slur and a “clueless anti-football p—y” in at least one email and argued that Goodell shouldn’t have allegedly pressured then-St. Louis Rams coach Jeff Fisher to draft “queers,” in reference to former NFL defensive lineman Michael Sam who was the first openly gay player to be selected in the draft.
Gruden criticized the league for hiring female referees. In 2015, Sarah Thomas became the first permanent female official in league history. In 2017, The New York Times reported Gruden replied to an allegedly sexist meme from Hooters co-founder Ed Droste about female NFL officials and replied, “nice job roger.”
The newspaper reported that Gruden wrote that former defensive back Eric Reid should have been fired for protesting during the national anthem. He also criticized a bill that would’ve forced the then-Washington Redskins to change their name in 2015…
If all of this seems underwhelming, that’s because it is. There doesn’t appear to be anything so outrageous that Gruden would be forced out, so what was it that did him in?
Maybe this, as reported by The Hill:
The New York Times did not reveal the specifics of Gruden’s comments on Obama — which were made to longtime colleague and friend Bruce Allen, the former president of what is now known as the Washington Football Team — but the outlet noted Gruden criticized the former president’s 2012 reelection campaign.
In separate comments, Gruden reportedly referred to Biden as a “clueless p—-.”
Joe Biden is a clueless pussy but there are very strict rules against accurately describing the illegitimate president. No one is allowed to point out his failures, call out his lies, or note his cognitive decline and under no circumstance is criticism tolerated. It’s called the “Let’s Go Brandon!” rule.
Most of the stuff in Gruden’s emails are mild compared to what plenty of celebrities have gotten away with so the only explanation for his forced resignation is that he called Joe Biden a “clueless pussy.”
