Stephen King Thinks Michigan School Shooting Means We Have To Get Rid Of The 2nd Amendment

The deadly school shooting in Michigan this week has gone largely unexploited by the left. Democrats aren’t screaming for more gun control and the liberal media isn’t pushing their anti-gun agenda. Quite frankly, it’s weird. Luckily, lefty horror writer Stephen King isn’t preoccupied with Omicron fear mongering and Roe v. Wade hysteria and thinks the school shooting means we have to get rid of the 2nd Amendment.

The facts of the Michigan school shooting are this:

15-year-old Ethan Crumbley opened fire in Oxford High School in Oakland County, Michigan, killing 4 students and wounding 7 more, including a teacher. The 9mm Sig Suaer the killer used was stolen from his father. That’s it. No motive other than the shooter apparently had some behavioral issues.

Now here’s Stephen King ignoring all known facts of the shooting:

What laws, gun-related or otherwise, would have stopped this shooting? It’s already illegal to bring a gun to school and murder people but for some reason the killer chose to ignore those laws. The shooter is only 15 and can’t legally obtain a handgun plus he stole the weapon so there’s another law that failed to stop him.

King of course isn’t interested in more laws with this dumb tweet, he wants the 2nd Amendment abolished completely. He says we have to ditch our right to keep and bear arms so we can be more like Great Britain. Ironically, we have the 2nd Amendment because we didn’t want to be like Great Britain.

Making this even dumber, king equates our Constitutional rights with a demonic pagan god that requires blood sacrifices. The tree of liberty may require a little patriot and tyrant blood from time to time but the 2nd Amendment is in place to guarantee our freedom.

What anti-gun douchebags like Stephen King don’t seem to understand is that guns are a reality. Even if the government could ban private gun ownership they would not be able to confiscate the nearly 400 million guns in private hands. Some people would turn them in but most people wouldn’t. Also the black market for firearms would move in to replace the legal sale of guns.

The genie is out of the bottle. Guns exist and they aren’t going anywhere. The only thing banning guns would do is disarm law-abiding people and make them much less safe. Criminals already don’t follow the law and it’s unlikely they’d start complying with any new ones.

It’s not our gun ownership rights or lack of gun laws that are responsible for the Michigan shooting but if Stephen King needs a culprit, he should look no further than himself. His books Carrie and Christine are about bullied weirdos who extract revenge on their tormenters in orgies of violence and death. These stories are pretty much the blueprints for school shootings. Should we get rid of the 1st Amendment to stop King from writing such dangerous tales?
