Tough on Russia? Not hardly. Joe Biden’s version of standing up to Vladimir Putin is to give him everything he wants. Biden already gave him a pipeline and now he wants to give the gift of Ukraine. Biden is pushing Ukraine to cede some territory to Russia if Putin promises not to invade any further.
Under Obama’s “lead from behind” leadership, Russia took the Crimea from Ukraine, and in reality, Biden was in charge of that, so we’ll lay that in his portfolio as well. Now, Russia has amassed troops on Ukraine’s border. Biden held a video conference earlier in the week with Vladimir Putin in which he tried to intimidate he Russian president by being a goofball. Biden came out of the meeting claiming he was tough on Putin, but as The AP reports, that was a lie:
President Joe Biden reached out to Ukraine’s leader Thursday as the United States moved to take a more direct role in diplomacy between that country and Russia, part of a broader effort to dissuade Russia from a destabilizing invasion of its western neighbor.
Biden spoke with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy by phone for more than an hour Thursday.
Administration officials have suggested that the U.S. will press Ukraine to formally cede a measure of autonomy within its eastern Donbas region, which is now under de facto control by Russia-backed separatists who rose up against Kyiv in 2014.
So tough on Russia means telling Ukraine to give some territory to Russia so Putin won’t invade the entire country? I feel like if Trump had done this, the democrats would have impeached him. Actually, they did impeach him for much much less involving Ukraine.
Speaking of which, Trump put sanctions on Russia and threw Russian diplomats out of the country. The former president also canceled several treaty agreements with Russia. The liberal media and the democrats took these actions as meaning that Trump was either on Putin’s payroll or the Russian president had some kompromat on the U.S. president.
Joe Biden removed sanctions to allow Russia to move ahead with the Nord Stream 2 natural gas pipeline to Europe. Now Biden is trying to convince Ukraine to give territory to Russia. What does Putin have on Biden? How much is Putin paying Biden and his crackhead Hunter? For some reason you don’t see the liberal media or the democrats asking these kinds of questions.
The AP, which is definitely part of the liberal media, did report this but they did so in a way that less alarmed by this foreign policy failure and more concerned for Joe Biden’s reputation:
For Biden, the challenge will be encouraging Kyiv to accept some of the facts on the ground in eastern Ukraine, without appearing to cave to Putin — a perception that could embolden the Russian leader and unleash a fresh line of condemnations by Republicans as Biden’s popularity is already in decline.
Republicans pouncing is not the problem with this Biden plan; it’s that Ukraine are supposed to be our allies and we shouldn’t be telling them to roll over and take one in the ass from Russia. Remember when democrats lied that Trump withheld military aide from Ukraine? Back then Ukraine was an important ally but now that Biden’s f*cking things up, they should accept the “facts on the ground.”
Biden sucks at foreign policy as much as he does with domestic policy. It’s too bad for him that those are the only things a U.S. president does. Actually it sucks for us and the entire world, with the noted acceptation of Russia and China, who adore Biden’s incompetency.
