California Governor Gavin Newsom is butthurt by an abortion law in Texas so he’s going to take it out on the people of his own state with new restrictive gun control laws. That may be the most liberal sentence ever written. It certainly encapsulates everything it means to be a liberal crybaby piece of shit.
A recent Texas law bans abortions after 6 weeks and is enforced by letting people sue abortion providers who terminate pregnancies after a fetal heart beat is detected. The Supreme Court made a ruling last week that lets the law stand for now but allows abortion providers to challenge it in federal court.
Gavin Newsom obviously doesn’t understand what the Supreme Court ruling means, but he is a leftist douchebag, so this is what he intends to do about something that has nothing to do with the state he allegedly governs:
If states can shield their laws from review by federal courts, then CA will use that authority to help protect lives.

“I am outraged by yesterday’s U.S. Supreme Court decision allowing Texas’s ban on most abortion services to remain in place and largely endorsing Texas’ scheme to insulate its law from the fundamental protections of Roe v. Wade. But if states can now shield their laws from review by the federal courts that compare assault weapons to Swiss Army knives, then California will use that authority to protect people’s lives, where Texas used it to put women in harm’s way,” wrote Newsom.
Well, abortions literally kill unborn babies, so it’s not a practice that saves lives and disarming people leaves them unprotected. Newsom has this whole thing exactly backwards.
“I will direct my staff to work with the Legislature and the Attorney General on a bill that would create a right of action allowing private citizens to seek injunctive relief, and statutory damages of at least $10,000 per violation and attorney’s fees, against anyone who manufactures, distributes, or sells an assault weapon or ghost gun kit or parts in the state of California. If the most efficient way to keep these devastating weapons off our streets is to add the threat of private lawsuits, we should do just that,” Newsom wrote.
Besides not understanding the ruling from the Supreme Court, the big thing Newsom is missing here is that gun ownership is a Constitutionally protected right while abortion rights are based on a flawed decision involving privacy rights. The reason why Roe v. Wade may get overturned is because it isn’t backed by a Constitutional right to kill unborn babies. No such amendment exists.
Beyond that, it’s already illegal to sell what Newsom calls “assault weapons” and ghost gun kits in the State of California. There are no manufactures distributing these things or stores selling them.
California is a mess with crime, homelessness, and filth but Gavin Newsom is putting all of his efforts to “fix” things by punishing gun owners for a Texas abortion law. This is like whooping your son’s ass because the neighbor’s kid did something you don’t like.
