We all know that everything is already stupid but apparently it’s not stupid enough for some people. The University of Nebraska is altering their mascot because he was giving the “OK” hand gesture which morons tell us is a symbol of white supremacy.
In case you haven’t been keeping up on all of the stupid shit lefties cry about, they now say making an “OK” hand gesture is an affirmation of white power. The 3 upward fingers are supposed to make a “W” which stands for “white” and the connected forefinger and thumb, along with the wrist, are supposed to make a “P” which stands for power.
I know, it’s completely insane and yet:

The University of Nebraska is changing its mascot’s hand gesture because it was associated with a white supremacy symbol.
For more than 47 years, Herbie Husker made what appeared to be an “OK” hand gesture, with his thumb and forefinger making an “O.”
Now the mascot will form a “1” with his index finger.
According to the Southern Poverty Law Center, white nationalists have been using the “OK” sign as early as 2015.
The University of Nebraska told the Flatwater Free Press, “the concern about the hand gesture was brought to our attention by our apparel provider and others, and we decided to move forward with a revised Herbie Husker logo.”
Herbie Husker has been doing the “OK” gesture since 1975 without being racist but now it’s suddenly racist because the Southern Poverty law center says so? I told you this was extra-stupid. Especially considering this:
Because the “OK” hand sign has only recently been known to signal “white power”, the Anti-Defamation League says, in most instances, it is just a sign of approval, and not everyone who uses it is doing it in a “white supremacist context.”
Since context is the key, it would seem as if the university is admitting their mascot is a white supremacist.
And actually, maybe he is. Herbie Husker is a big fat white guy and we’ve been told that mascots representing races or ethnicities are racist. If Indian chiefs are racist than so too should be an obese blonde caucasian. Herbie not only mocks white people, he makes fun of fatties as well. Just to be safe, Nebraska should probably scrap him altogether.
Another problem is, now that Herbie is making the “#1” hand gesture, it’s like he’s saying the white race is superior to all other races. Before with the “OK” gesture he was proclaiming “white power” but now he’s going full white supremacy.
Also, and I’m just going to say it, “Corn Huskers” sounds like a homophobic slur along the lines of “turd burglars” or “butt pirates.” Take a look at the mascot again. Herbie Husker has an ear of corn coming out of his ass. If that ain’t homophobia, I don’t know what is.
It’s crazy that the University of Nebraska would change their mascot over something this stupid, but if those are the rules…
