Cornell University Teaching Class On The Cosmic Racism Of Black Holes

According to liberals, everything is racist and since the cosmos is everything, it stands to reason (liberal reason) that it is the most racist thing of all. Cornell University is teaching a class on the cosmic racism of black holes because higher education puts more emphasis on getting high than getting educated.

Cornell offers a course called: Black Holes: Race and the Cosmos

And here is the actual course description:

Conventional wisdom would have it that the “black” in black holes has nothing to do with race. Surely there can be no connection between the cosmos and the idea of racial blackness. Can there? Contemporary Black Studies theorists, artists, fiction writers implicitly and explicitly posit just such a connection.

So black studies theorists and artists say that black holes are racist? Do any astrophysicists think this as well? Nope:

Theorists use astronomy concepts like “black holes” and “event horizons” to interpret the history of race in creative ways, while artists and musicians conjure blackness through cosmological themes and images.

I should mention that this is a second-year astrophysics class at Cornell, which is frightening.

Co-taught by professors in Comparative Literature and Astronomy, this course will introduce students to the fundamentals of astronomy concepts through readings in Black Studies. Texts may include works by theorists like Michelle Wright and Denise Ferreira da Silva, authors like Octavia Butler and Nalo Hopkinson, music by Sun Ra, Outkast and Janelle Monáe.

Outkast is now science at Cornell.

If Cornell University is teaching a course on the racism of black holes, surely there must be a mountain of evidence to support this. I did a search for this evidence but only found this NPR quip from 2008:

A Dallas County official says terms like “black hole,” “angel food cake,” and “devil’s food cake” are racist terms.

A meeting of county commissioners turned tense when someone used the term “black hole” in the presence of Commissioner John Wiley Price.

The science is settled, at least as far as liberals are concerned. Apparently anything with a “black” descriptor is racist:

The Black Plague, which primarily killed white Europeans, is racist.

The “Black Dahlia” murder of white woman Elizabeth Short was a hate crime.

The Black Angus Steakhouse chain is systemic racism.

The 1950s Hollywood Blacklist of white communist sympathizers was Jim Crow on steroids.

Black Eyed Peas are an example of food racism while the musical group The Black Eyed Peas is not.

Black Lung Disease affecting white coal minors is environmental racism.

Door-busting Black Friday deals are economic racism.

Call of Duty: Black Ops is anti-black terrorism.

Since black hole has “black” right there in the name, liberal logic says it is racist. I could see if they were called “N-word holes” but that is not the case. Also, black people aren’t actually the color black, it’s just what they prefer to be called after all the other things they preferred to be called became racist.

In fact, The United Negro College Funds and The National Association for the Advancement of Colored People” have way more racist names than black holes.
