Joe Biden is shockingly bad at being president. His support with black voters is tanking and for some reason he’s decided to ban menthol cigarettes. You win black votes by pandering, not cutting off their Kools. What’s next? An attempt to win over LGBT voters with a ban on Astroglide?
Here’s some terrifying news for Joe and the democrats from CNN:
A few weeks ago, Gallup released results comparing Biden’s approval rating since October with the first six months of his administration. Much attention has been paid to his 20-plus-point drops with young adults and Hispanics.
Far less noted was that Biden’s approval rating among Black adults stood at a mere 67%. That was down 20 points, from 87% at the beginning of his presidency, which was fairly in line with the percentage of Black voters who backed him in 2020.
Joe fixed inflation by printing trillions of dollars we don’t have, he fixed high gas prices by destroying our energy independence, and he fixed illegal immigration by opening up the borders. It’s probably not that big of a shock that he’s attempting to fix his sagging support among black voters like this, as The Hill reports:
The Food and Drug Administration on Thursday proposed a ban on menthol cigarettes and flavored cigars after a very public debate over whether to prohibit them.
Under the ruling, menthol would be prohibited as a “characterizing flavor in cigarettes.” Additionally, all characterizing flavors, with the exception of tobacco, would be banned in cigars.
The proposed ban stands to have an impact on the tobacco market as a whole. Menthol cigarettes make up over one-third of the cigarette market in the U.S., according to the Kaiser Health Foundation.
And most of those menthol smokers are black people. Again, Joe is really bad at this.
It looks even worse considering a move Biden made earlier this year. It was revealed that the Biden administration had a $30 million program to distribute free crack pipes to communities of color. Once again, Biden struggles mightily with messaging. He’s saying it’s okay for black people to smoke crack but not menthols.
“The proposed rules would help prevent children from becoming the next generation of smokers and help adult smokers quit,” said Health and Human Services Secretary Xavier Becerra in a statement.
Or people will dip regular cigarettes in Pine-Sol or some other toxic substance to make them more mentholly. Actually, what it will probably do is create a black market for menthols that will be every bit as deadly as the illegal narcotics trade. For some reason democrats can’t wrap their heads around the fact that prohibition doesn’t get rid of anything, it just creates demand and violence.
Biden can pretend that he was raised in the black church, went to an HBCU, and was arrested marching for civil rights. He can tout that he picked unqualified women for vp and the Supreme Court. The only thing blacks are going to be thinking about is: “That white mother*cker took away our Newports!”
