Small Business On The Verge Of Cancellation For ‘Racist’ Juneteenth Sign

This “food is racist” nonsense needs to stop. A small business in Maine posted a Juneteenth sign telling people to enjoy fried chicken and they are now receiving death threats and face cancellation. Black people love fried chicken the same way everyone does and there is absolutely no racism behind enjoying delicious food.

Melanie Higgins and her mother own and operate the Harry E. Reed Insurance Inc. in Millinocket, Maine. Like she does for all holidays, Melanie put a humorous sign in the window to announce they would be closed. For the made-up holiday Juneteenth, it was this:

“Juneteenth, it’s whatever… we’re closed. Enjoy your fried chicken and collard greens,” read the sign.

As News Center Maine reports, everyone has lost their minds about this nothing burger:

As the pictures of the sign continue to circulate social media, she said they’ve had to take the phone off the hook.

“We are receiving death threats. We are receiving phone calls calling us really inappropriate words,” Higgins said.

Meanwhile, many people online are posting in comments of the post claiming the town of Millinocket is a racist community.

They also had to shut down the comments on their Yelp page and local leaders are not helping matters:

Peter Jamieson, Millinocket’s town manager, said he wanted to set the record straight.

“We feel very strongly that we just have no place for this in our community,” Jamieson said.

Steve Golieb, Millinocket’s town council chairman, said they are in the process of discussing how they want to move forward, while also trying to make one thing clear, “an unfortunate incident like this does not characterize who we are as a community,” Golieb said.

And because there’s no other problems in America, this has become a national outrage:

BTW, CBS reports, “Juneteenth – which marks the the end of slavery in the U.S.” which isn’t remotely true.

And neither is the liberal media freak-out that this sign is racist. It doesn’t tell black people to enjoy fried chicken and chances are, there aren’t any black people in Millinocket, Maine so it was directed at the white locals. The sign doesn’t have any N-words or pictures of monkeys either.

Also, fried chicken is not racist. Liberals claim it’s a racial stereotype but they can’t explain why eating food is racist. Some stereotypes are racist because they portray a group of people negatively. There’s nothing negative about enjoying good food. Or at least there shouldn’t be. Find something real to freak the f*ck out over or STFU.

Melanie Higgins has apologized and said she didn’t mean to offend anyone, but we know how effective that is. Once accused of racism, no matter how ridiculous it is, a white person is cancelled. Well, a white non-democrat is cancelled.
