How funny would it be if abortion got banned in California? ‘Cause that’s a very real possibility. In their rush to reinforce their love for killing babies, the liberals who run the state have put the abortion question on the ballot to ask voters what they think. The thing is, Californians don’t always vote for leftist extremist things, even if they continue to vote for leftist extremists. This thing could fail.
Let’s start with this from ABC 7:
California voters will decide in November whether to guarantee the right to an abortion in their state constitution, a question sure to boost turnout on both sides of the debate during a pivotal midterm election year as Democrats try to keep control of Congress after the U.S. Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade.
The Supreme Court’s ruling declared that a right to privacy does not guarantee the right to an abortion. California Democrats fear this ruling could leave the state’s abortion laws vulnerable to challenge in state courts.
To fix that, California lawmakers on Monday agreed to put a constitutional amendment on the ballot this year that would leave no doubt about the status of abortion in California.
The amendment would declare that the state “shall not deny or interfere with an individual’s reproductive freedom in their most intimate decisions, which includes their fundamental right to choose to have an abortion and their fundamental right to choose or refuse contraceptives.”
So the liberals in charge have put the abortion question on the ballot for the voters to decide. That’s a no-brainer in liberal-ass California, right? The voters will approve this overwhelmingly.
Well actually, that’s not how things work out here. To you outsiders, you see California as this hopelessly liberal wasteland with a few of us conservatives trying to survive Mad Max-style. The reality is however that Californians are mostly stupid and vote for democrats because that’s what the TV tells them to do. When it comes to ballot measures, they consistently vote conservatively.
After the 2020 election, I wrote about how Californians struck down every single liberal woke ballot measure. They rejected tax hikes, social and racial justice initiatives, and anything that diminished their rights. Despite voting for democrats, they overwhelming voted against the democratic party’s agenda.
At the time I questioned why but I’m pretty sure that it’s because there’s a lot of dumbf*cks out here. The point however is, when it comes to ballot measures, Californians vote conservative.
It gets worse for the success of the abortion ballot measure because California is full of Hispanics who are religious and largely Catholic. Unlike like “good” Catholics Nancy Pelosi and Joe Biden, Hispanics don’t love killing unborn babies.
Also, consider that everyone is pretty turned off by the democrats right now because of the utter destruction they’ve brought to our country. Democrats can’t even rely on their own reelections at this point, let alone their whacko unpopular agenda.
If and when the abortion ballot measure fails, that doesn’t mean abortion will suddenly become illegal in California but it does open things up to lawsuits. With the Supreme Court stetting the precedent, it wouldn’t be so far-fetched that abortions could be banned or severely limited in the Golden State and that would funner than anything I can think of.
