No Roe v. Wade Backlash Against Conservatism Yet—Majority of Americans Say the U.S. Should Prioritize the Economy over Abortion

Love polls or hate them, fears of a Roe v. Wade backlash dooming the anticipated November Red Wave so far appear to be much ado about nothing.

More Americans believe the U.S. should prioritize economic issues over abortion, a recent YouGov/CBS News Poll has found.

This from breitbart.com.

The survey, taken Wednesday, June 22 through Friday June 24—the day the Supreme Court [announced having] overturned Roe v. Wade—asked respondents to identify which issues should be prioritized in the country.

Respondents identified inflation as the issue that should take the highest priority, as 82 percent categorized it as a “high priority” item.

The economy came in a close second with 80 percent saying it deserves “high priority” status, followed by crime (58 percent high priority), gun policy (57 percent high priority), and immigration (45 percent high priority).

Under the “high priority” category, abortion came in sixth place, with 42 percent identifying it as a “high priority” item.

The issue did not even come in first place under the “medium priority” category, as 44 percent chose “the situation with Russia and Ukraine,” followed by immigration (38 percent), and the coronavirus pandemic (38 percent).

Abortion came in fourth place, as 35 percent identified it as a “medium priority” issue.

The survey coincides with the Supreme Court overturning the 1973 Roe v. Wade decision, turning the decision back over to the states.

And as a result, angry pro-abortion activists gathered outside of the Supreme Court over the weekend, holding signs reading “pussy posse” and chanting “small dick energy” in the presence of pro-lifers.

[Note:] Missouri became the first state to effectively ban abortion, making exceptions only for a medical emergency, as others follow suit.

This ongoing radical leftist outrage—and the democrat-communist support for and encouragement of it—is certainly dangerous, violent, destructive, and must be stopped.

Yes, it is yet another great example of democrat-communist mental illness. And not only does this put on full display their sick insanity, but it also demonstrates how they consistently misidentify problems and apply faulty stop-gap fixes that invariably cause further problems, i.e., rioting will not bring about a SCOTUS change of heart.

Final thought, observations: The 1973 Roe decision was based on faulty logic. It was a radical left wet dream concocted by a progressive-packed SCOTUS.

The Bill of Rights does not enumerate a woman’s right to abort any more than it enumerates a man’s right to play poker and smoke cigars on Friday nights and fish or golf or hunt quail on Saturday mornings.

For a Traditional Constitutionalist (and We the People), none of that is contained within the document.
