Joe Biden has done such a crappy job in his first year and a half in office that even most people in the democratic party don’t want him to run in 2024. When confronted with his vanishing support, Biden snapped at a reporter with insults and lies.
Here was the scene yesterday after the latest who-gives-a-f*ck White House function:

“Mr. president, what’s your message to democrats who don’t want you to run again?” ABC’s Ben Gittleson asked.
“They want me to run,” replied Biden.
“Two-thirds said they don’t,” said Grittleson.
This is when Biden got upset and confronted Grittleson.
“Read the polls. Read the polls, jack. You guys are all the same. That polls showed the 92% of the democrats if I ran would vote for me,” said a noticeably agitated Biden.
“A majority of democrats say they don’t want you to run again in 2024,” Grittleson said.
“92% said if I did they’d vote for me,” Biden said.
Okay, let’s read the polls. The poll that both Biden and Grittleson are talking about is from The New York Times/Siena College, which was released on Monday. The poll shows that 64% of democrats want somebody other than Joe Biden to be their democratic party candidate in 2024. A whopping 94% of democrats under the age of 30 want Biden to step aside.
When Joe said that democrats want him to run, that was a complete lie as the majority don’t want him to.
As for Biden’s claim that 92% of democrats would vote for him, that’s a lie too. The poll showed that 92% of democrats who want Biden to run in 2024, which is only 36% of them, would vote for Joe if he was running against Donald Trump. It’s weird that the number isn’t 100%, but it’s also not a ringing endorsement from democratic party voters.
The reasons why democrats don’t want Biden to run is equally as telling: 33% think he’s too old, 32% say he’s doing a shitty job, 12% want new blood, 10% say he isn’t progressive enough, 9% don’t know why, and 4% doubt his abilities. In other words, 90% of democrats say Joe Biden is incompetent and 10% say he isn’t as much of a leftist extremist as they’d like. Again, this isn’t a party that is untied behind Joe Biden.
Joe Biden, backed by his various press secretaries, has repeatedly said he does not pay attention to the polls because he’s focused of doing a good job. Those are three more lies because he’s not focused on anything, is doing a horrible job, and clearly paid attention to this poll. He’s been waiting all week for a reporter to spring this question on him so he could misrepresent the data.
Beyond the lies is his anger. Biden was pissed off that the reporter cited the poll. When Trump was president, we were told that hostility toward the press damaged democracy and and put journalists’ lives in danger. I wonder why hostility at the press is suddenly cool.
