Concealed Carry Permit Holder Shoots Chicago Carjacker, Sends Him To Hospital In Critical Condition

A Chicago concealed carry holder told a carjacker to go pound sand. In self-defense, he then critically injured a man who approached his car and fired shots at him during an attempted vehicle theft.

Our communist-controlled cities have become war zones. The leadership’s malfeasance is too catastrophic not to be intentional.

The city is begging for a Special Forces military takeover.

This from slaynews.com.

The assaulted man, 45, was in his car in the 5500 block of West Crystal Street around 1:27 a.m. Monday when another man attempted to carjack his vehicle. The suspect opened fire on the man in the car who had a gun and fired back, hitting the thug in his chest.

Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot is under fire as the city just hit a record for carjackings. To make it worse for the failed mayor, at least 34 people were shot over the weekend in Chicago, three of them fatally.

The Chicago Police Department recorded its 1,000th carjacking of the year on August 6 according to city data. Last year, which saw a record number of carjackings, the city recorded 1,000 carjackings on August 16.

Lightfoot continues to downplay violent carjackings in that city saying they are motivated by kids seeking joyrides or looking for a vehicle to use in other crimes.

But whatever the reason, Mayor, take action to stop this criminal behavior. Your removal should be the first order of business.

And a new study debunked Lightfoot.

The study found from 2017-2021 Chicago police recovered less than one in five carjacked vehicles. CPD recovered just 10% of the vehicles carjacked in 2021 as of Feb. 8, 2022.

Professor Robert Vargas, director of the UChicago Justice Project, said:

When you look at these numbers, it’s hard to line these facts up with the narrative that our city leaders have put out that the spike is being driven by young people seeking joyrides.

Because unless young people are extremely good at hiding cars after having gone for a joyride, it seems like there’s some pretty strong economic incentives going on here and things linked to the informal economy, which suggests a far different set of interventions needed to address the problem.
Vargas continued:

If the vast majority of carjacking incidents are being motivated by economic incentives, then it means that youth programming alone isn’t going to be sufficient to address the problem. It means that the problem is being driven by economic need.

And when you look at the fact that the carjacking spike occurred just as the pandemic and the economic downturn hit, it makes logical sense that a lot of the carjacking is tied to the tremendous increase in economic need in Chicago’s disadvantaged neighborhoods.

According to NPR:

In the years prior to 2020, there were fewer than 1,000 carjackings each year, according to the study. Last year, there were more than 2,000 such incidents. And city data show carjackings are on pace to be even higher this year.

In press conferences over the last 18 months, Chicago Police Superintendent David Brown has highlighted the extremely young age of some of the alleged carjackers they’ve arrested and called for a combination of more services and more “accountability” for young people as a way to stem the tide of carjackings.

At a March 10, 2021, news conference, Brown said:

[T]he No. 1 motivation for carjackings was joyriding.

It’s a shame that you’ll hold a gun to someone’s head just to joyride, but that seems to be what our young people are doing that we’re capturing.

Final thoughts: What I see here is black communist malfeasance. Their leadership is so far beyond bad, they must be intentionally failing. Perhaps bought off by George Soros to destroy another city. Or perhaps they aspire to bring the African continent to America.

Again, perhaps as part cover-up–part stupidity, the communist leadership mis-identifies a problem then proceeds to institute worthless measures to address the mis-identified problem. The invariable result is the continuation of the original, root problem, and an additional newly created problem or problems to face.

Much of Chicago should be circled with crime-scene tape and entrance restricted. Allow the city to collapse in upon itself. Oh, and departures should also be restricted.
