Video of Dog Who Served in Iraq Being Given a ‘Hero’s Sendoff’

Robbie, who protected former presidents and served in Iraq, was given a hero’s send-off.

This by Genny Glassman on pethelpful.com.

The video below is of a senior dog receiving a “hero’s sendoff” before being put down.

Watch the video, please. Robbie lived a long, courageous life in the service to his country.

Of course, this is a devastating sendoff no matter what the circumstances, but Robbie’s military service was exemplary and we are proud as well as in tears.

And many people in the comments section were equally as touched.

As the video from the Land Of The Freakin’ Awesome (@lotfaofficial) shows, the hero dog from Florida had a sizable crowd around while he took his final walk.

The footage shows Robbie, with the help of two humans lifting him so he could walk making the rounds.

Most people gave the hero dog a pat as he passed them. And several had tears in their eyes as they said their goodbyes.

These ‘last honor walks’ are heartbreaking. Run free, sweet Robbie.

What a wonderful way to honor Robbie’s life and work.

We can imagine the gesture made him so happy before the end.

Rest well, Robbie.

And thank you for your service.
