Biden Hosts The Braves At The White House, Promptly Implies They Are Racist

When Donald Trump was President many championship teams refused to go to the White House, which is too bad because Trump knew how to throw a party. With Biden occupying the White House, teams are treated to weirdness, lies, and accusations of Racism. While hosting the World Series Champion Atlanta Braves, Biden implied their name is racist.

Joe Biden just spent millions of our dollars ro rename every geographical location in America that had “Squaw” in the name to placate the non-existent Indian voting bloc. After a move like that it’s hard to believe Biden would host a team called the Braves, but he did.

Joe entered the room and instantly gravitate towards a young boy who he had an uncomfortably long handshake with. “Too bad all these people are looking,” thought Joe.

Then it came down to making the Braves World Series victory all about Joe Biden and his bullshit family history. Biden started by talking about how his wife Jill is a Philadelphia Phillies fan and gave the Braves shit for beating them last night. Then it was on to his grandpa:

Biden was referring to when the Boston Rustlers became the Boston Braves in 1912.

“My grandfather was an All-American football player at Santa Clara, and he was a newspaper guy up in Scranton, Pa. His name was Ambrose Finnegan and when it was the Boston Braves, he didn’t like it. But at any rate, that’s another story,” Biden said.

Most of what Biden just said is not true, and we’ll get to that in a second, but what Biden essentially said is, “Because my gramps played football and worked at a local newspaper, he was qualified to determine the team name ‘Braves’ was racist.”

Now on to the fact-check: Ambrose Finnegan was not a “newspaper guy” implying that he was a journalist of some sort, he was an ad salesman for a newspaper and there’s a big difference.

He also wasn’t an All-American at Santa Clara College in California for a variety of reasons. First, there is no record that Ambrose Finnegan played at Santa Clara or even attended school there.

Santa Clara Magazine has a short piece about Ambrose Finnegan but doesn’t actually say he played football there or was even a student. They have picture of a Santa Clara football team from the early 1900s, when Ambrose would have attended, but Ambrose is not in the picture. The only tangible connection to Santa Clara is that Ambrose once subscribed to the school magazine.

A search of the Santa Clara football team archives shows no Ambrose Finnegan on any roster.

Just for shits and giggles, let’s pretend Ambrose Finnegan did attend Santa Clara College and did play football for them, there’s still no possible way he was an All-American. Back in the early part of the 20th Century, when Finnegan was an alleged football star, the Santa Clara team only played 4 games a year and some years zero. Nobody is getting named as an All-American from playing 4 or less games.

But wait, there’s more: No player West of the Rockies was named All-American in the years between 1901-1906. Also everyone who was named an All-American in those years were not named Ambrose Finnegan.

And lastly, the first Santa Clara Player to ever be named an All-American was quarterback Tom Calcagno in 1963.

So now what Biden is essentially saying is: “I’m lying about my family to imply that you guys are racist.”

Like I said, championship teams should have took advantage of visiting the White House when Trump was President. There was better food and much less judgmental bullshit.
