October is a month that opened with numerous ominous threats of U.S. and world harm—even catastrophic melt-down, however, already interesting possibilities and favorable signs are being realized.
For example, reported on Thursday by KFAB, a local news station in Nebraska, the weak and seldom effective RINO Senator Ben Sasse is set to announce he is resigning from the U.S. Senate.
This from redstate.com.
Sasse is reportedly leaving his position in Washington to take a role in higher education.
[The presumption is] he’s going to become the president of a major university as any lesser role probably wouldn’t have led to this result.
Given that Sasse went to Yale, there might also be an opportunity for him in the Ivy League, though that seems less likely given the liberal bias at those institutions.
Imagine the rabid protests from students if he were to take a position at Harvard, for example? Sasse is a big Nebraska fan regarding football, so maybe that offers a clue.
Sasse himself has had a colorful relationship with the broader right, both as a critic of Donald Trump and also as someone with more neoconservative views.
Because of that, many of us will no doubt cheer his departure.
Final thoughts: Good riddance, Ben Sasse. The GOP could do worse, of course, and there are several of your colleagues I have in mind, however, with a little forethought from Governor Ricketts the GOP will do much better. Yes, Gov Ricketts is a RINO, so we shouldn’t hold our breath, but we can hope and pray for a conservative replacement.
Sasse’s current term ends January 2027. And the wayward Senator has appeared disinterested, at best, in the U.S. Senate for the last several years. He seemed more excited about pushing his recent book than governing, so his exodus will be for the best. Someone who will fight to save America from communism and globalism would be nice.
