Nothing triggers a dumb liberal shit-fit like Donald Trump. Now that the former president has announced his intention of running in 2024, the left has rediscovered TDS. The first and most immediate reaction to Trump’s announce was to claim the Constitution bars him from holding office, which is preposterous.
Here is Bill Clintons Secretary of Labor, Robert Reich, who has literally been wrong about everything, being wrong again:
Section 3 of the 14th Amendment bars anyone from holding office who “engaged in insurrection” against the United States.
This isn’t some obscure provision. A judge in New Mexico just used it against an insurrectionist county commissioner.
It should apply to Donald Trump, too. pic.twitter.com/bziyP17YhR

Well, actually it shouldn’t apply to Donald Trump and the simplest reason is because he hasn’t engaged in insurrection.
Has Trump been convicted of insurrection? Has he been charged with insurrection? The answer to both of those questions is no. Trump hasn’t been convicted or charged with anything, let alone insurrection.
The democrats have had 2 years of unchecked power and launched investigation after investigation at Trump and come up with precisely nothing. They’ve hit him with frivolous lawsuits only to have them tossed by judges. They don’t have a damn thing on Trump.
Another issue is that what happened on January wasn’t an insurrection. In order to prove Trump guilty of insurrection, they’d first have to prove that the Capitol protests were at least an attempted insurrection. Again, they’ve had 2 years to achieve this and have come up way short.
Check out this assessment from the FBI:
The FBI has found scant evidence that the Jan. 6 attack on the U.S. Capitol was the result of an organized plot to overturn the presidential election result, according to four current and former law enforcement officials.
Though federal officials have arrested more than 570 alleged participants, the FBI at this point believes the violence was not centrally coordinated by far-right groups or prominent supporters of then-President Donald Trump, according to the sources, who have been either directly involved in or briefed regularly on the wide-ranging investigations.
“Ninety to ninety-five percent of these are one-off cases. Then you have five percent, maybe, of these militia groups that were more closely organized. But there was no grand scheme with Roger Stone and Alex Jones and all of these people to storm the Capitol and take hostages,” said a former senior law enforcement official with knowledge of the investigation.
Sorry but that ain’t an insurrection.
It becomes much less insurrectiony when you consider the following facts about January 6:
Donald Trump asked for additional security at the capitol and Nancy Pelosi denied that request.
FBI agent and assets were embedded with the crowd, coordinating and instigating violence.
The Capitol Police let protesters into the Capitol building through a side door.
Donald Trump will take another shot at making America great again. While it’s unclear how successful that will be, one thing is for sure, his 2024 presidential announcement will make liberals insane again.
Okay, that’s a bit misleading because it implies liberals ever stopped being insane. Let’s just say Trump’s gonna make them even crazier.
