With many blue states passing increasingly draconian gun control laws, some red counties within have declared themselves “2nd Amendment” sanctuaries, refusing to enforce these unconstitutional measures. Democrat Senator Chris Murphy, who took an oath to defend the Constitution, thinks the feds should cut off funding to these counties who are defending a Constitutional right.
Here’s an enemy of freedom taking advantage of Twitter’s new free speech policy:

And this is Murphy’s big plan:
One idea to prevent the spread of “2nd Amendment Sanctuary” counties is to require counties to certify that they enforce state and federal gun laws in order to be eligible for DOJ Bryne grants.

Interestingly enough, Murphy doesn’t think that federal funding should be cut off to cities, counties, and states that have declared themselves as illegal alien sanctuaries. The big difference here is that 2nd Amendment sanctuaries simply ignore unconstitutional laws while illegal alien sanctuaries physically prevent federal enforcement of Constitutional laws.
The thing is, The Department of Justice Byrne grants are given by the feds to the states and not directly to the counties. If Murphy gets his way, he’d cut off federal law enforcement spending for entire blue states, leaving the crime-ridden big cities high and dry.
Another interesting aspect of this is that the Byrne grants only amount to $25,000 over 2 years for counties. That barely covers the cost of a meter maid golf cart or a couple of police mopeds. Literally nobody in any 2nd Amendment sanctuary county would give shit.
What’s really going on with this is that these counties refuse to make criminals out of residents who were law-abiding people before the liberal state legislatures passed unconstitutional gun control laws. The Sheriffs are not going to arrest people who legally purchased firearms and magazines in good faith, only to have leftist state leaders ban those things.
Democrats ignore existing laws all the time. The Biden administration has completely abandoned the enforcement of our immigration laws. In the name of “racial justice” big city liberal DAs have stopped arresting and prosecuting minority offenders for major violent crimes.
2nd Amendment sanctuary Sheriffs who won’t arrest law-abiding people for owning things they legally purchased in no way causes a spike in crime or makes anyone less safe. Flooding our streets with violent criminals and illegal aliens is a major threat to public safety and national sovereignty.
Chris Murphy’s positions on both of these issues shows that he, and all democrats, are on the side of criminals and hate law-abiding American citizens.
