For some reason, liberals think that comparing abortion to guns is a solid argument for killing unborn babies. Obviously the right to keep and bear arms is protected by the Constitution, while aborting healthy humans is not. One elderly white liberal man has taken this dumb comparison to ridiculous new heights by complaining it’s easier for him to buy an “assault rifle” than it is for him to get an abortion.
Robert Reich was Bill Clinton’s Secretary of Labor and part of Barack Obama’s transition team. Since then he’s specialized in being wrong about everything and saying really stupid things. Here’s one of those things now:

Okay, you’re a radical lefty. You’re also completely wrong on multiple levels.
Abortion is not a life-saving procedure as it is a procedure that terminates a human being’s life. In rare cases in which the mother’s life is in danger, the procedure to save her life isn’t called abortion. The fact remains that all abortions are elective surgeries to kill an unborn baby as a matter of convenience.
Also, abortions take about 600,000 more lives each year than gun related deaths. And that’s guns of any kind, not just make-believe “assault rifles.”
Which brings up another thing Reich is wrong about: It’s not easier for him to get an assault rifle than an abortion, because assault rifles aren’t something the general public can purchase. He could get a semi-automatic rifle, but not anything fully-auto, which is the closest thing to whatever liberals think an assault rifle is.
Even with that, Reich’s claim falls apart. To purchase a firearm, one must show ID, pass a background check, and in many places apply for a license. Also, some states have a waiting period. Most of all, to buy a gun, a person has to have the money to complete that purchase.
For an abortion, there is no age limit, no background check, no waiting periods, and anyone, including convicted felons can get one. The cost of an abortion is based on a person’s wealth and in many cases free. It would be awesome if the price of a gun was scaled down to the buyer’s economic status and if there were government and private subsidies, but that ain’t the case.
Despite all of this glaring wrongness, the actual stupidest part about Reich’s tweet is that he implies he has a case of the sads because it’s easier for him to buy a gun than get an abortion. I know that liberals are trying to obliterate the science of human biology, but Reich is a biological male, who can’t get pregnant and therefore would never need an abortion.
Then again, in his stupidity, Reich is actually right about something. It is easier for him to get a firearm than an abortion because he has a Constitutional right to gun ownership, while he doesn’t have the proper plumbing necessary for pregnancy.
