Joe Biden would like nothing better than to ban all semi-automatic firearms, but there’s a pesky U.S. Constitution blocking him. The Constitution however doesn’t say anything about gas stoves, so the illegitimate president is considering banning them. Why? Because democrats are asshole who are constantly trying to make life shittier for everyone.
The NY Post reports that Biden continues his efforts to cause more problems than he solves:
The Biden administration is considering a nationwide ban on gas stoves — citing the harmful pollutants released by the appliances, according to a report.
The Consumer Product Safety Commission is mulling the action after recent studies showed emissions from the devices can cause health and respiratory problems, Bloomberg reported Monday.
“This is a hidden hazard,” CPSC Commissioner Richard Trumka Jr. told the outlet. “Any option is on the table. Products that can’t be made safe can be banned.”
The gas stove was invented in 1826 and went into widespread use in the early 1900s. Suddenly, after more than a century they are unsafe?
We should find out about this important science that says gas stoves are hazardous. I bet it’s stupid:
Reports by groups including the American Chemical Society and New York University Law School’s Institute for Policy Integrity found gas stoves — which are used in about 40% of US homes while the remainder use various forms of electric cookers — emit pollutants like nitrogen dioxide, carbon monoxide and fine matter at levels deemed unsafe by the Environmental Protection Agency and World Health Organization.
The studies also linked gas stoves to respiratory illness, cardiovascular problems, cancer and other health conditions.
Again, how did they just recently discover these dangers? Were people suffering from gas stove-related cancer and respiratory illness 100 years ago? 50 years ago?
“There is about 50 years of health studies showing that gas stoves are bad for our health, and the strongest evidence is on children and children’s asthma,” said study co-author Brady Seals. “By having a gas connection, we are polluting the insides of our homes.”
And yet they sat on these health studies for 50 years until 2023, when there is a highly-suggestible democrat, who might actually ban gas stoves, in the White House. That’s certainly convenient.
The only only thing that would make this dumber would be if someone claimed gas stoves are racist. Oh wait, here it is:
Sen. Cory Booker (D-NJ) and Rep. Don Beyer (D-Va.) sent a letter to the agency in December urging it to take action against the appliances, saying they are a “cumulative burden” on minority and low-income households.
Cory Booker can, and should, go f*ck himself.
Gas stoves have been safely used by hundreds of millions of Americans for over a hundred years. Banning them is just the latest attempt by the left to make our lives an inconvenient as possible.
Also, banning them means everyone would have to get electric stoves, which puts an even bigger burden on the electrical grid that already can’t meet the needs of the people. Especially since liberals are intent on converting to unreliable green energy.
I, for one, will not be giving up my gas stove and the government is going to have just as much trouble taking mine as if they were coming for my AR. They can have my gas stove when they pry it from my economically, evenly heated hands.
