Conservative ideals and American holiday traditions have been under attack for years from liberal ideologists.
Recent world events have spurred some government leaders to take advantage of opposing ideals and set aside holiday traditions.

The war between Israel and Hamas has landed on U.S. soil in the form of protests that have led to clashes among supporters on both sides of the issue. Recently protesters overwhelmed one of the most sacred holiday events and pledged to do the same across the country.
Christmas tree lighting ceremonies have been an annual celebration for generations of Americans dating back for a century. But one liberal state governor has shut down the celebration and is using the fear of protests to justify his action.

California [communist/globalist] Governor Gavin Newsom canceled the annual live public Christmas tree lighting that had been scheduled for Tuesday because of “protests across the country.”
Newsom didn’t say which protests triggered his decision, but the lighting ceremony appears to have coincided with a pro-Palestinian protest at the state capitol Tuesday night. Similar protests have sometimes turned violent or disrupted ceremonies in New York City and Michigan. Lighting giant Christmas trees are annual celebrations from the U.S. capital to town squares across the country.
The Sacramento Regional Coalition for Palestinian Rights told a California TV station that their goal was to:
[O]ut Gov. Gavin Newsom for hiding from the public because he doesn’t want to face their anger at his shameful stance in regard to the genocide in Gaza.
The group planned a march at the state capitol on Tuesday evening.
A Newsom spokesperson stated that the Christmas tree lighting ceremony would be virtual on Wednesday to protect:
[The] safety and security of all participating members and guests including children and families.
The event was set to feature small businesses and musical performances.
A group promoting foreign interests has once again
stopped an American tradition on U.S. soil while a
[Leftist] political leader cowered to threats of protests.
The in-person holiday festivities that so many Californians looked forward to this year are gone because Newsom did not stop the protest even though the California Highway Patrol had earlier established barriers around the tree lighting area.
Newsom allowed the protest to override an already scheduled event and sacrificed the holiday festivities of Americans.
Under Newsom’s watch, pro-Palestinian demonstrators are getting what they want.
In mid-November, they pushed past security guards and ran into the convention center in Sacramento.
Planned caucuses of the California Democratic Party were cancelled and Jewish attendees were reported to be intimidated and harassed.
Final thoughts: This is another example of the Left “solving” problems with measures that create new larger problems. I recommend you become more like a parent and stop trying to be a friend. With discipline comes deterrence.
