End Times—The Great Tribulation—Meanwhile Merry Christmas and Best Wishes for the New Year

In August 2018, the government of New Zealand passed legislation cracking down on the surge of foreigners buying property in their country.

Why New Zealand? Think global anxiety over the increase of natural disasters and political turmoil plaguing the globe.

Plus, New Zealand is considered an ideal remote location in the event of a nuclear apocalypse.

The land buyers have constructed hi-tech bunkers buried 13 feet below the earth’s surface that feature bullet resistant doors, advanced air filtration systems, backup batteries, and even luxury accommodations—first-class survival shelters.

But what about the rest of us? Are we prepared for the great tribulation?

Considering the headlines these days, we are right to feel we are in the middle of a great tribulation right now—potential war with China and/or Iran, Russia/Ukraine uncertainty, massive wildfires and hurricanes plaguing North America, railroad derailments, hazardous waste spills, DEW strikes wherever a rogue government sees fit, etc., etc.

The Bible calls it “the great tribulation” but apocalyptic circumstances seem ever present with or without the Lord’s supervision.

In Matthew chapter 24, Jesus warns us there will be some turbulent times for those living on the earth just before His return. Can times be made more turbulent than they are now? Are We the People to believe His return is imminent?

When the disciples and Jesus discussed the Jewish temple. One of the Lord’s statements certainly shocked His followers.

Do you not see all these things? Assuredly, I say to you, not one stone shall be left here upon another, that shall not be thrown down.

And soon after the Lord said:

There will be great tribulation, such as has not been since the beginning of the world until this time, no, nor ever shall be.

Those very words have frightened many. The language is breathtaking, yes?

Many times, however, the things we worry about don’t actually turn out so bad. Most of the pain is found in the anxiety and anticipation. But in the case of the great tribulation, we probably cannot over-imagine how bad it will be.

Jesus said regarding that time:

Unless those days were shortened, no flesh would be saved.

In other words, without God’s intervention, nothing will survive.

Preparing for end times can be a spiritual endeavor, a physical endeavor, or both.

Yes, emphasize the importance of prayer, the Word of God, and the love of Jesus, however, also take steps to physically prepare yourself and your family for the worst of times. In that, try to address every scenario imaginable and prepare contingency plans for each scenario: war, famine, pestilence, earthquake, power outages, absence of food and/or water, an EMP, a forced evacuation requiring Go-Bags for each family member—human and otherwise—etc., etc.

Until then, strive to anticipate the worst, hope and pray for anything less problematic, coordinate with family members and neighbors to determine what skills you each bring to the struggle, segregate and isolate as much as possible, and try to stay away from densely populated areas.

Finally, God speed, Merry Christmas, and best wishes to all Def-Con News readers for the coming year.
