The surprising truth? President Trump’s deportation policies are actually boosting his popularity, especially among groups the Left assumed would oppose him. Former Trump Chief of Staff Mark Meadows recently pointed out this remarkable trend.

‘And what’s happening to President Trump’s poll numbers among those who have come here as immigrants is going way up, but not just for those who say, ‘I want to secure the border.’ It’s the people who have come here legally and said, ‘Listen, we need to control the border,” Meadows said.

The Left’s strategy has backfired spectacularly. By assuming all immigrant communities would oppose deportations, they revealed how little they understand about these voters.
Legal immigrants often feel the impacts of illegals most directly. They live in the affected neighborhoods. They compete for the same jobs. And they resent the implication they should support lawbreaking simply because they share a similar background with those entering illegally.
