On Saturday an unhinged maniac opened fire in a Pittsburgh Synagogue, killing 11 and wounding 6 more. That shooter was apprehended and identified as 48-year-old anti-Semite Robert Bowers. He is the one who pulled the trigger and he is the one that bears 100% of the responsibility for this cowardly massacre. Shannon Watts of the faux grassroots gun control group Moms Demand Action however doesn’t think Bowers is responsible for his own actions, instead blaming the NRA because that’s what rabid anti-gun nuts do.
You know Watts was sitting around hoping there would be a mass shooting so she could unload on the nation’s oldest civil rights group. Today she got her wish and, following the shooting at the Tree of Life Synagogue in Pittsburgh, she unleashed her fact-free assault on legal gun ownership:
There were armed guards at Columbine, Virginia Tech, Pulse, the high schools in Parkland and Santa Fe, and on and on. A deranged civilian with an AR-15 and a death wish will always overpower security guards. The @NRA wants us to continue escalating this arms race.

Were there armed guards at Columbine and Virginia Tech? I know there was one at Parkland, but he ran outside and hid while students were killed. I do know that almost none of these mass shootings involved a killer using an AR-15. The Columbine killers had shotguns and a Tech-9. The Virginia Tech shooter had a handgun. The Santa Fe high school shooter used a shotgun and a .38 revolver.
Not only is Watts lying about the prevalence of AR-15s in mass shootings, she’s trying to claim that armed guards can’t possibly stop a madman with a gun so we should ban all guns. Had there been a armed guard who wasn’t a chickenshit at any of these mass shootings, we wouldn’t even be talking about them because they would have never happened.
Also, the NRA in no way promotes illegal gun use or gun ownership for crazy people. Watts would like us to believe that the NRA is giving guns to lunatics so they can commit mass murder, but the complete opposite is true. The NRA trains people in self-defense and fights for their right to arm themselves against threats like this.

It sure seems like Watts is trying to tie a person’s gun ownership rights to a list of pre-approved ideologies, doesn’t it? Who gets to decide if someone is a racist, bigot, or misogynist and isn’t allowed to own or possess a firearm? Because if it’s liberal kooks like Shannon Watts, none of us would be allowed to exercise our 2nd Amendment rights. Liberals think everyone is a racist, xenophobic, homophobic, woman-hater.
In order to achieve her dream of disarming the people she doesn’t like (everyone) Watts first needs to redefine the US Constitution:

The 2nd Amendment is not a “framework” or a suggestion, it is absolute law. The words “shall not be infringed” let you know that keeping and bearing arms is not open for debate. It’s not something lawmakers can toy with just like all of the other protected rights in the Constitution. It was written by our Founding Fathers to limit the government’s power.
And yeah, had their been armed guards and/or citizens at the Synagogue, the killer would have been stopped dead in his tracks. Shame on Shannon Watts for saying that people should be bullet-sponges and victims of criminals who refuse to obey the law.
As dumb as this is, I guess it’s a step up. Earlier this week a gun control group was blaming the NRA for those fake bombs a male stripper sent top democrats. At least Shannon Watts is blaming the NRA for a shooting. She’s still wrong but at least she can claim she is slightly less full of shit than some other anti-gun zealots.
