Obama Is Making An Anti-Trump TV Show For Netflix

Last May Netflix gave Barack and Michelle Obama a butt-load of money to produce TV shows for the streaming service. At the time the Obamas said they wouldn’t use the platform to attack Trump, but much like we got to keep our doctor, they are going after Trump. The Obama’s acquired the rights to an anti-Trump book and intend on turning it into an anti-Trump TV show. At this point it’s safe to assume that whatever either of these two say, the opposite is true.

Michael Lewis’ book The Fifth Risk is about the transition in the Department of Agriculture, Department of Energy, and Department of Commerce when Trump took over as President. Obviously I’ve never read this book, but they tell me it covers some chaos in the transition. It doesn’t sound remotely interesting, but the Obamas want to turn it into a TV show because they too are not remotely interesting.

Deadline reports:

Deadline has learned that Michael Lewis’ latest book The Fifth Risk has been acquired by Barack and Michelle Obama under their Netflix production deal for a possible series aimed to help people better understand the inner workings of the government.

As I said, this possible show sounds lame, but let’s consider this: Barack Obama was President of the United States for 8 years and the only thing he can think of to explain the inner workings of government is a book about the Trump administration. I know he was lazy, but it appears he learned absolutely nothing about the government in two terms as POTUS. That is the most Obama thing ever.

Author Michael Lewis has written other books that have been adapted to the screen like Money Ball and The Blind Side, but this doesn’t seem like something that’s going to translate well or be entertaining. From the looks of it, this isn’t going to be a documentary, but a scripted series. There’s no way this isn’t going to be boring as hell, which is also a pretty Obama thing. He’s about as interesting as watching ink dry on an executive order.

As far as I can tell, the premise of this book is that the outgoing Obama administration prepared a bunch of stuff for the incoming Trump administration, but Trump’s people didn’t care to continue doing things the Obama way. It sounds like it’s a book that is saying Trump doesn’t know what he’s doing, but it could also be interpreted as part of Trump’s successful effort to wipe out Obama’s sad legacy. Whatever the case, this is not something that portrays President Trump in a positive light.

The fact that the Obamas have picked this to be their first Netflix project, shows they too suffer from Trump Derangement Syndrome. Clearly the President is living rent free in their heads if this is the only thing they can come up with. In reality I bet the Obamas would love to do a show on par with any of Michale Moore’s anti-Trump vehicles, but they are too chickenshit to pull the trigger.

The pathetic part is that the Obamas have so many personal stories that would make great TV shows and movies. How about a show about Barack’s dope-smoking youth with the Choom Gang? Michelle named her autobiography “Becoming” so maybe a movie about her transition from whatever she was to whatever she is? Perhaps a crime drama called “How To Get Away With Forging A Birth Certificate.” All kidding aside, I’d actually like to see a documentary about how dirt-poor loser Barack Obama was able to go to some of the top and most expensive schools in the country.
